Brighton’s coastline is home to a rare and vital habitat: the vegetated shingle habitat. Lizard Landscape Design and Ecology got an opportunity to work on the Sea Lanes project to stabilise the shore and support local wildlife through understanding these vital ecologies and designing the planting to suit these exposed and harsh habitats.
Spot these coastal drought tolerant blooms:
Sea Campion, Sea kale, Devil’s-bit Scabious, Viper’s Bugloss, Ox-eye Daisy, Red valerian and more with some naturalised species like Erigeron glaucus 'Sea Breeze' and Senecio cineraria.
