My phone is filled with pictures of work going on in the house. But there’s a LOT of this. Phone calls. Sourcing. Ordering. Ringing round to get the right price. Making sure EVERYTHING has been thought of so the budget doesn’t run away. Research, asking questions, chasing things that haven’t arrived. These are the days where there’s not as many photos but it’s ALL happening.
He’s VERY good at all this ❤️

Our gorgeous staircase ❤️
➡️ SWIPE for the design
Still a work in progress. We’re going to paint the risers white, another coat of oil on the treads, skirting and moulding throughout the hallway.
Had a little play on chat gpt and got quite excited ❤️

For someone who loves making homes- this one is officially my favourite! It’s been a long time since we settled. And making our own home, with NO plan on leaving (honestly!) is pretty magic ❤️🌟

Dear Old Kitchen,
Thanks for the memories. You may have been old and somewhat challenging on the eye, but you were incredibly practical and did us well.
If we’re honest we’re not going to miss the fact that you had to kick the main oven to make it work. The complete lack of lighting was somewhat challenging but we did ok with a head torch or a desk lamp in winter. The lack of a dishwasher was character building. My family grew to love the magic sink that you just leave things by and it does the washing up and puts it back in the cupboard for you- real winner.
You provided excellent strength training by providing minimal worktop meaning that we had to constantly swap the kettle/airfryer/toaster to cook. Everyday was a back day. You kept me on my toes when I’d use the washing machine as a worktop for the air fryer and had to leg it through the house when I heard the spin start so it didn’t vibrate off the edge- Always got there in the nick of time though, you tinker.
A particular shout out goes to the electrical education I received so that when I forgot your limitations and turned on the kettle while the tumble dryer was on, I could reboot the power that had blown out on the whole floor.
Sending out your little mates as a parting gift to make us keep you was cute. We’re desperate for a pet but sadly rodents are just too small for us. Next time please can we have a dog.
So in a nutshell thank you for the memories. In all seriousness, the 18 months we had together taught us patience, resilience and gratitude in abundance. Akin only to childbirth, we have a short memory with a strange fondness already.
Thank you for what we’re very grateful are now memories ❤️❤️❤️

Happy Monday folks!
Kids went to school and I sat down for the first time on my own in the kitchen to have breakfast.
Absolute heaven!
Andy is here doing the final render on the outside which he’ll finish today.
Then we can take the cover off the glass and clean the windows. Rob can then lift the covers off the new patio and by midweek can seal the stone, grout it and then we can start using it. Hopefully by this weekend 🤞🏻

So exciting to start using the new space ❤️

Putting these here to remember this weekend ❤️
All four of us mucked in to move us down into the new kitchen. Cleaning, lifting, sanding, washing, handles on, the fridge that nearly got the boot and even Ruby here to watch on 🐕‍🦺
First Saturday night and first Sunday pancakes.
Proper home making- I was in my element. So bloody grateful we get to do this ❤️
