That knock from the rear over every bump… It’s one of those noises that starts on rough roads and then slowly becomes something you can’t ignore.

On the Fiat 500 / Abarth 312, it’s very often the rear upper shock absorber bush giving up — the rubber compresses, loses shape, then starts to split and let the shock move where it shouldn’t. What you feel is that dull clunk or thud from the back end, like something’s just a bit loose… because it is.

We see it time and time again with the OEM setup — the bush gets crushed over time, especially on cars that are driven with a bit of enthusiasm or regularly deal with potholes and speed bumps.
