I was asked to finish off some facia and make good above a conservatory that the customer had started but isn't able to finish at the moment.
I had to remove the Polycarb conservatory roof sheets in order to access it all and batton and board it all the way along to create a flat and straight timber facia base to work from.
After that it was uPVC to the rescue and a bit of felt and underlay to seal the deal. Oh, and some new guttering.

A customer (for whom I'd fitted some frames for whilst working for the Chichester based window and door firm before they went bust in January) somehow managed to contact me and asked if I would finish the job if he supplied the last few frames that he was left out of pocket for as he was happy with what myself and apprentice had done previously.
I felt terrible for him, (even though his loss was no fault of my own) and agreed to survey and fit the last few frames and to help him finish his home in Worthing 😊

What started as going to price a couple of small odd jobs turned in to a whole day of odd jobs!
Sealing aluminium gutter joints, re-fixing shingle tiles, running skirting around a conservatory, adjusting doors and making a new panel and cutting in new beads to replace the rotten ones and putting a first coat of stain on it.
The day finished with the customer taking me to his other property and asking to revitalise his timber conservatory.
Sometimes that list of never ending things that need doing does actually have an end, with a little bit of help 😉

Here's a few pictures of what started as a Facia, Soffit and Guttering job I did recently.
Soffits and Facias don't usually go badly so quickly so I decided to remove a few tiles and sure enough the original felt had failed drastically!
Tiles were removed across the width of the property and new felt and battons were installed all the up to, underneath and past the still intact origina felt.
New timbers were sistered against failing rafter feet and timber ladders built to support the original soffit before removing rotten facia.
You'd be surprised how common this problem can be!

Hello all,
After 2 and a bit years of working for a firm that as of this morning decided to no longer employ anyone, I've decided to wake this page up!
Please do message any queries regarding any home or commercial property jobs that needs doing.
I've been mainly working with upvc again for the last few years but still can turn my hand to most other things.

Hello, everyone.
After an incredibly arduous and busy last few years, both mentally and physically, of being self-employed and doing my absolute best to keep my customers happy I've decided to lay my little business to sleep and to take on a permanent job with a Chichester based PVCu company.
It was a hard decision to stop and rest the Handyman business after everything I put into it. But it was nowhere near as hard as it was to keep it going.
Those that know me I'm sure are aware of the battles I had to keep the plates of my life spinning on the tenuoisly fragile sticks that held them, and without all of my customers support and opportunities I know there would be a great deal of broken plates and snapped sticks to clean up.
Thank you to everyone that's supported me and I'm sure most of you aren't even aware that you have!
Its the little things in life, little acts, empty words which are full of hope, wisdom and lessons learnt that are passed on and even just a smile with a warm heart that have the biggest impacts on us and usually go unseen. But not by me, so thank you 😊

An attic bathroom/cupboard conversion.
This was a tricky one with plenty of head bashing! But it worked out really well.
Knocked walls out to enlarge a cupboard and squeezed in an L shaped bath and built a small storage cupboard.
Removed the bath at the other end of the room and built a large storage cupboard in its place.
New toilet and sink too.
Because of the sloping ceiling in the cupboard I made a bespoke shower curtain rail by suspending soldered copper pipes from the ceiling. And it worked a treat 👍

Old timber door that had seen better days, and also had a living plant growing out of it!
New timber door on, couple of coats of primer on ready for painting and with a multi point locking mechanism routered into it for extra security.
Not as funky as a "living door", but more functional as a.......door 👍

A job I started just before Christmas and finished just afterwards.
Laying of new engineered oak flooring and new skirtings to create a wonderful and warm living room and hallway!
I also made a couple of doors to close of under the stairs and attached a heavy oak lintel above the fireplace.
Also, I removed the surfaced mounted pipe work for the radiator before laying the floor and ran it under the joists and up into a new but old looking radiator.
Great result and another happy and wonderful customer 👍
I do count myself so lucky to have such a lovely and freindly client base 😊

Here's some pictures of some windows I fitted just before Christmas and a door removal and brick up for a large window in Aldwick.
I replaced some old tilt and turn windows with some modern and A rated PVCu windows with top openers in their place.
The original bathroom glass did nothing for privacy so we went for Satin glass which let's lots of light in but somehow is impossible to see out of or into!
Matching the bricks and gauging the cement colour round the back was tricky but I'm confident it'll dry and weather perfectly 👍

What a difference a few tiles make! Had quite a bit of prep work to do on the walls as they were almost an inch out in some places!
But I got there in the end 👍
Next step: New LVT flooring and the kitchen will be complete 😊
