Something is definitely wrong with my Bosch GAS 35 M AFC 🛠️⚠️

This thing barely picks up dust anymore — even when the dirt is only a few fingers away from the nozzle. For a professional dust extractor, that’s definitely not normal.

Before replacing parts or giving up on it completely, I’m going to investigate and test a quick fix I found.

How do you know a dust extractor has suction problems?
Weak pickup, poor airflow, and dust being left behind even at close range are major signs something’s wrong.

What usually causes this?
Filters, airflow blockages, seals, or internal components can all affect suction performance over time.

Let’s see if this fix actually works.

Trying to fix my Bosch GAS 35 M AFC because the suction has become terrible ⚠️🛠️

It barely picks up dust — even from just a few fingers away. Before replacing parts or spending more money, I found a quick fix online and decided to test whether it actually works.

Sometimes tools don’t completely fail… they just lose performance over time due to blockages, filters, seals, or worn components.

Why would a dust extractor lose suction?
Common causes include clogged filters, blocked hoses, damaged seals, or airflow issues inside the unit.

Should you replace or repair first?
Always worth diagnosing properly first — sometimes the fix is surprisingly simple.

Quick ZE test on the board before finishing the job ⚡

Even though the faulty cooker switch appeared to be just a failed mechanism, it’s still important to carry out proper testing to make sure there aren’t any underlying issues with the supply or earthing.

What is a ZE test?
It measures the external earth fault loop impedance of the installation — basically checking the effectiveness of the earthing path coming into the property.

Why is this important?
Because proper earthing is critical for protective devices to operate safely during a fault condition.

Electrical work shouldn’t stop at replacing parts — proper testing is what confirms the installation is safe.

𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗯 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽!

Running power to the hot tub isn’t as simple as plugging it in! I’m working on the fuse board inside the property, but here’s the challenge—I need to drill from the outside to get the cable through. Precision is key, or I might end up in the wrong spot!

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁?
A direct connection to the fuse board ensures the hot tub gets a stable, dedicated power supply. This prevents overloads and keeps everything running safely.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘆?
Walls aren’t always straightforward—hidden pipes, tough materials, and awkward angles can make drilling a challenge. Careful planning avoids costly mistakes!

Opened up the cooker switch expecting to find burns, loose connections, or damage… and surprisingly, nothing looked wrong ⚡🤔

No obvious overheating, no damaged terminals — looks like the switch mechanism itself simply gave up over time.

Sometimes electrical faults aren’t dramatic. Components can just wear out internally after years of regular use.

Can a switch fail without visible damage?
Yes — internal mechanical parts can wear down even when the wiring and terminals still look perfectly fine.

Why is fault finding important before replacing parts?
Because checking properly helps confirm there isn’t a deeper issue hiding behind what seems like a simple fault.

If you’re in Bristol or surrounding areas and need electrical fault finding or repairs, contact Live Line Electrical.

This cooker switch is completely stuck and won’t turn off ⚠️⚡

In this reel, I’m showing the faulty switch before replacement. We’ll be fitting the exact same model back in, but the bigger question is… what caused it to fail in the first place?

That’s what we’ll investigate in the next video.

What can cause a cooker switch to seize up?
Heat buildup, loose connections, overloading, or worn internal components can all damage the mechanism over time.

Why is this a safety issue?
Because if the switch can’t isolate power properly, it may not function safely in an emergency.

If you’re in Bristol or surrounding areas and have faulty switches or electrical accessories, contact Live Line Electrical for safe and professional repairs.

Quick introduction to today’s electrical job in Bristol ⚡

We’re replacing the client’s old outdoor lamp with a new LED motion sensor light, as well as sorting out a cooker switch that’s completely stuck and won’t turn off properly.

Small jobs like these might seem simple, but faulty switches and outdated lighting can quickly become safety and reliability issues if left too long.

Why upgrade to LED motion sensor lights?
They’re more energy efficient, improve security, and require far less maintenance compared to older fittings.

Why should a stuck cooker switch be replaced immediately?
Because isolation is a key safety feature — if you can’t switch it off properly, it’s no longer safe to rely on.

If you’re in Bristol or surrounding areas and need electrical repairs or upgrades, contact Live Line Electrical.
