Hallway renovations.

Another project completed.

Inner doorway made smaller and replaced with a new door.
All render removed to 1.2 meters high, damp course drilled in and re rendered to damp proofing spec.
Archway removed and squared off, ceiling down, extra sockets added, new board up and spot lights fitted.

Osmo door oil and oak veneered doors.

For me this has to be one of the most satisfying jobs, to see the transformation before your eyes is just brilliant.

An ongoing project for us at the moment.

With the rise in fuel and energy costs this customer decided they wanted their chimney breast opening back up to have a log burner installed.
So we set about knocking the brick work out to retain the original size.
We’ve now rendered it back up ready for plaster next week.

They also asked if we could get rid of some unsightly wiring that had been done a few years back that was just ran across the wall in trunking for an extra socket, so we we’ve chased it in to the wall and moved the socket over a bit further as requested.

We also got rid of a 2 way light switch that was no longer needed to be 2 way.

Finally we’ve racked all the skirting off to be replaced with a more modern looking replacement.

More smart home items.
Google nest smoke and carbon monoxide alarms this time.
These also connect to your phone via an app and will give you notifications if you’re not in as well as clear and loud spoken warnings before the alarm sounds.
Another nice feature is the ring around the centre button which will light up in the dark if it detects movement.
Handy for going to the toilet in the night !!

Nice little touch these, they connect to your Wi-Fi and via an app on your phone, then you can turn the lights on or off by talking to your smart speaker, on your phone or just by touching the switch.
Dimmer versions are also available where you can actually say “Alexa, lights 50%”.
