If you're new to the world of Room Spell, thanks for buying from it and/or following it. And hello.
I am Dan. The creator of Room Spell and all of the scent profiles that it produces. I am absolutely obsessed with the way things smell. I am also very interested in folklore, magick, nature, myths, legends and dark history. All of the scent profiles in Room Spell are based on ideas out of one of those categories.
I am so obsessed with scent, that I have recently decided to start my own perfume company. You can find it here:
I create custom scent profiles for those who want them. I've scented weddings, corporate events, private events and I've also collaborated closely with some brilliant people, to create limited edition candles.
I host markets in York, to allow top level, dark creatives a place to showcase their work in the city that I live in. My markets are heavily curated, whimsical and a little bit unusual. If you've been to one, you'll know what I mean.
My goal in life is to disrupt people's perceptions, whilst being an advocate for gothic culture, outsider art, and the unseen. When it comes to making scents, I want impossibly bizarre scents to exist, for those who want their home (and soon, their skin) to smell different. It took me a while to understand that there is a place in this world for what I do.
Sometimes I turn into Black Phillip. A strange creature, that is essentially an exaggerated version of me.
I also make "music". But the older I get, the more I come to understand that I don't really like music; I like energy, chaos and noise. Sometimes, those things come out in the form of what humans call "music", and sometimes they come out in the form of a scent.
That is me and what I do. The second picture is my perfume making area of my loft laboratory. Opposite that (not in the picture) is where I make candles.
