I lost a fabulous friend last month when Carole Patilla died from pancreatic cancer.
I was utterly ignorant of this awful cancer until it hit my friend so completely and so terrifyingly quickly. She and I laughed, celebrated and sang together in May at RHS Chelsea Flower Show when the Farewell Flowers Directory stand we’d built won a gold medal and we had so many more plans …
This life-size wire sculpture graced our Chelsea stand and it’s now the prize in a Draw to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

There’s some glorious blue and white Agapanthus at Pantry in the Paddock this morning. Bunched with Sedum, Peony foliage and either Eryngium or Hypericum they’re not to be missed!

Sadly, there are fewer bunches of flowers awaiting you this morning at Pantry in the Paddock because of the drought.
Happily, they’re all utterly gorgeous.
Quality not Quantity 🙂

There’s some fabulous bunches of Lavender Pantry in the Paddock this morning. 4 bunches of other flowers too but the drought is taking its toll so there’s not so many as usual.
The Lavender can be placed in a vase and allowed to dry naturally - or separated into smaller bunches and hung around the house. It smells divine.

I did stand still, honest, for the official photos: the stilted ones where the photographer with the thousands of pounds worth of kit kept darting forward to tweak an angle here and smooth a crease there.
Then we were released and Rosie snapped this one on her phone.
No more words needed.

Picked last night, half a mile away.
That’s what local and fresh means.

GOOD NEWS I’ve picked more Peonies this evening and there’ll be another 5 bunches of gorgeousness at Pantry in the Paddock at 9am tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
They sold out almost immediately this morning, so don’t be late…
