I know I've been quiet on here, but that's because I've been dedicating my time to moving forward with more heritage projects. I'm officially kicking off a major new restoration! This will be a long-term commitment, but the finished results are going to be absolutely spectacular. I can't wait to share the journey and the awesome things we'll uncover!

It's been an absolute pleasure to contribute to the recent project at St. James Nunburnholme. Working alongside Nigel Copsey of Earth Stone and Lime Company has been a truly rewarding experience.
The local congregation makes wonderful use of the church for various community activities. To better facilitate these, we carefully removed four pews and relocated an ancient stone cross, masterfully carved by Anglo-Saxon and Viking sculptors. This thoughtful adjustment has created significantly more usable space within the church, benefiting all who gather there.

I'm pleased to share that all materials removed during this process will be carefully repurposed for future adjustments and improvements within the church. We anticipate upcoming projects where we'll utilize leftover floorboards and oak panels, embracing sustainable practices.
Over the next few months, I'll also be transforming the removed pews into standalone pieces. These will be offered to the local community, with all proceeds dedicated to supporting future maintenance and preservation efforts for this historic church.

It is a genuine honour to be the designated carpenter for St. James Nunburnholme, and I've thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this project.

Hit and Miss Fence & Trellis Installation with Raised Veg Trough - Kirkbymoorside
Hit and miss fencing has been installed incorporating a timber trellis structure for vine support.
Additionally, a custom-built vegetable trough, utilizing reclaimed fencing, has been fabricated and installed at an elevated height for improved access.

Timber sourced through MKM Building Supplies

The elevated vegetable troughs offer a cost-effective solution, significantly improving accessibility for individuals with limited mobility. Future production for wider distribution is under consideration.

NEW: Before and after!

I've finished this lovely Oak Engineered Herringbone flooring in Amotherby for a dining room. Fantastic product to work with supplied by MKM Building Supplies MKM Malton

New taller skirting to elevate the grandure of this room. I also removed the old metal thresholds and replaced with oak thresholds for that final touch.
