☀️ What a lovely first day of Yoxall Open Gardens! ☀️

It was so nice to see so many people out enjoying themselves in the sunshine yesterday. Families strolling through the beautiful gardens along Hadley End, children playing traditional games and making the most of the open spaces, and everyone taking the time to enjoy a proper community event. It really was a great day.

If you haven’t been yet, we’re doing it all again today from 11am! There are stunning gardens to explore, vintage cars and tractors to see, plus BBQ food, drinks and plenty of cakes available throughout the day.

We also have a large selection of our plants for sale at one of the gardens, and don’t forget that your Open Gardens ticket gives you 10% off at Woodside Nurseries & Smallholding too.

If you’re looking for something to do on what looks like another perfect day, why not come along and help support some fantastic local charities? We’d love to see another great crowd enjoying everything that makes this event so special. 🌿🌸🚜🍰☀️

Gran and grandad certainly enjoy hogging the best seat in the garden at Sophie’s and Andy’s! 😁

🌿 Yoxall Open Gardens 2026 – This Weekend! 🌿

If you missed us on the radio on Monday here’s a breakdown! 😁

We’re delighted to once again be involved with the wonderful Yoxall Open Gardens, taking place this Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June, from 11.30am–4.30pm.

There are 7 beautiful countryside gardens to explore, with 4 opening to the public for the very first time, all within a 1-mile radius of each other. As well as some truly inspiring gardens, you can also enjoy:

🌸 BBQ lunch, tea and homemade cakes
🚜 Vintage tractors and classic cars
🐶 Well-behaved dogs welcome
♿ Disabled access, toilets and parking available

Admission is just £5 per adult, with children going free, and your ticket gives entry for both days. All proceeds help raise funds for St Giles Hospice and Barton Lions.

As many of you know, we help with the gardening and maintenance of some of these fantastic gardens, so it’s a weekend that’s particularly close to our hearts.

🌿 Woodside Nurseries & Smallholding will also be part of the event! 🌿

We’ll have a large display of plants for sale at one of the open gardens, featuring a selection from our nursery, including many of the cottage garden favourites we specialise in.

And if you’re visiting the Open Gardens, don’t forget that our nursery will also be open as usual throughout the weekend. As a thank you for supporting this brilliant local event, we’re offering a special discount in the nursery to anyone who shows us their Open Gardens ticket.

So why not make a full day of it? Gather some inspiration from these beautiful gardens, pick up a few plants for your own garden, and support some fantastic local causes along the way.

🌱 A bit of a special moment for us here at Woodside…

We’re incredibly proud to now be stocking the new River Cottage Organic Seed Collection. 🌽🍅🥦

For many people they’re simply a range of seeds, but for me (Josh) they represent something much bigger.

Growing up, River Cottage and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall played a huge part in shaping the way I saw food, gardening and smallholding. Long before Woodside existed, I was the teenager watching River Cottage and dreaming about growing my own food, keeping livestock, living closer to nature and building a life connected to the land. 👨🏻‍🌾👩🏻‍🌾

The values that River Cottage has championed for years, growing your own, respecting the seasons, caring for the soil and producing food sustainably are values that sit at the heart of what we try to do here every day. River Cottage has long promoted organic growing and sustainable food production, and this new seed range continues that ethos.

So to now have these seed packets sitting on the shelves at Woodside feels like a genuine full circle moment. We have a selection of 16 varieties to choose from with more on the way.

We’re excited to be able to offer them to our customers, use them ourselves and hopefully inspire the next generation of growers, gardeners and smallholders in the same way River Cottage inspired me all those years ago.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this collection to life. It’s wonderful to see River Cottage launch its first ever organic vegetable seed range and make these ideas even more accessible to people wanting to grow their own food.
