A pair of tropical homes designed to merge architecture, interiors, and landscape into one seamless experience. Two interconnected volumes balance solidity and openness, using textured masonry and vertical wood screens to frame light, breeze, and views of the surrounding forest.

Taller Ken crafted the interior design with a warm, tactile palette—natural hardwoods, handcrafted tiles, terrazzo, and custom millwork—creating spaces that feel refined yet deeply connected to place. Sliding glass panels extend the social areas into shaded terraces and outdoor dining spaces, embracing Nosara’s climate and lifestyle.

Casa Kallo is a relaxed, immersive retreat shaped by materiality, light, and the rhythms of coastal living.

Two gabled volumes define the organization of public and private spaces, framing views and choreographing movement through the site. A central open platform serves as both threshold and gathering space — a spatial pause between volumes that blurs interior and exterior life 🌿✨

Elevated above the landscape, the design responds to the steep terrain while fostering natural ventilation and a light environmental footprint. An ongoing exploration of how architecture can engage landscape, climate, and daily rituals in meaningful ways.

🌆✨ Throwback to The Alloy Block — where play met public space in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn.

Designed by Taller KEN, this bold installation transformed a busy urban corner into a vibrant, interactive oasis. With its signature pops of color, unexpected geometries, and open invitation to sit, climb, or simply hang out, reimagined what a city block could be — not just a place to pass through, but a place to pause.

From spontaneous and curated street performances 🎭 to casual conversations sparked by the design itself, this installation was all about creating moments of connection in the middle of the city’s hustle. 🌀

A huge thank you to the community, collaborators, Alloy Development, and the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership for making this urban intervention come to life.

At FUNDAMENTAL Design-Build, we believe the strongest designs start with listening. This vibrant community map is the result of a collaborative exercise led by students from the , who walked, talked, lived and sketched alongside local residents of Islita in Guanacaste — from surfers to students, hotel cooks to mechanics.

Each colorful vignette highlights the people, places, and daily rhythms that give this community its pulse. 💚 From Ricardo, the surf teacher 🌊, to Anne, the hotel cook 🍽️, and Ismael, the museum creator 🎨 — their stories shape the land as much as the land shapes them.

This isn’t just mapping — it’s relationship-building, place-making, and a celebration of everyday expertise. 💪🏽🌴
