Welcoming Students from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to the Kwun Tong Composite Development (KTCD) Civil Service College Site
On 14 March 2026, ARVA was delighted to host a group of students from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, together with Gammon Construction Limited, at the KTCD Civil Service College site.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the project’s key challenges — including the revitalization of a dense urban quarter, the integration of diverse uses into the program, complex construction over the operating Mass Transit Railway line, and severely constrained site access — while also facilitating in-depth discussions on the multifaceted issues encountered in this ambitious development.
Our Principal, Professor William Tam, shared valuable insights into the design process and explained how the team successfully brought this visionary project to life.
Special thanks go to Gammon Construction Limited for organizing this insightful visit. We are also deeply grateful to Professor Ulrich Kirchhoff from The University of Hong Kong and Professor Johannes Kuehn from Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for initiating this meaningful academic exchange.
We truly appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and engagement, and we look forward to future collaborations in architecture, urbanism, and innovative construction.
