InnoCell in Hong Kong has once again gained global recognition by being Highly Commended in the Experimental - Future Project category, in the 2020/2021 World Architecture Festival Awards (WAF).

InnoCell is the epitome of innovation. It is the first high-rise steel Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) building in Hong Kong, while the design strives to foster a conductive “Work-Live-Play-Learn” environment. The building offers 392 fully furnished residential units to local and overseas incubatees and start-ups at the Hong Kong Science Park.

With 496 shortlisted projects across completed buildings, future projects and landscape design from some 62 countries, the WAF Awards program is recognised as being one of the world’s leading, largest and inclusive architecture design awards programme.

We are pleased to announce that InnoCell has been named the winner of the Sustainability Award at RICS Awards 2021 Hong Kong.

Innocell is a unique smart living and co-creation space offering 509 bed spaces to local and overseas start-ups and incubation companies based at the Hong Kong Science Park. This ground-breaking project is the first completed high-rise building in Hong Kong adopting Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) techniques. Coupled with the use of MiC, Innocell also reimagines how a co-living and co-creation space could be designed.

The innovations and sustainable attributes of this building prove that a paradigm shift in thinking towards construction design and delivery can be realised. InnoCell has also showcased the successes that can be achieved when all project stakeholders within the wider construction industry come together with a shared vision to complete a truly exemplar project.

The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. The judges consider projects against five key criteria – Professionalism, Outcome and Achievement, Teamwork, Innovation, and Sustainability.

This award is recognition of the entire team’s dedication to realising this visionary project, and we extend our congratulations to everyone involved in the delivery of InnoCell!
