Some of the strongest architectural ideas begin with a simple line.

At Gautai Dun Pin in Taipei, the initial sketch already captures what would become one of the building’s defining characteristics: a series of soft, flowing horizontal curves.

Carried through into the completed architecture, these lines wrap around the façade, softening the building’s geometry and creating continuously changing edges, shadows and perspectives throughout the day.

Set within Taipei’s established Minsheng Community, the 13-storey residential building contains just 12 residences, with one home occupying each floor.

Designed by P&T Hong Kong, the project shows how a simple architectural idea can remain remarkably clear from the first sketch through to the finished detail.

From Bangkok and beyond, P&T Group’s Thailand studio has contributed to the region’s evolving built environment across a diverse range of sectors and scales.

For this edition, we’re focusing on Bangkok, a city where density, connectivity, climate and rapid urban growth create unique opportunities for architecture.

Across the capital, our work spans hospitality, residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, each shaped by its own context, challenges and ambitions.

Design rooted in context.

Last week, our Design Group Director Mahmoud Shahin joined Design Perspective - Jaipur Edition as a keynote speaker, bringing together around 300 architects, designers and industry professionals for an evening of ideas, discussion and knowledge sharing.

Mahmoud’s presentation explored an approach that sits at the heart of our work at P&T Group: architecture shaped by purpose, context and design, with environmental responsibility embedded throughout the design process.

Through a selection of projects from across the Middle East, Asia and Africa, he shared how these principles can translate into architecture that responds to its place, its people and the environment.

Beyond the presentations, the event provided a great opportunity to connect with Jaipur’s architectural community and gain a closer look at India’s evolving design and construction industry, from the quality of design solutions being developed to the manufacturing capabilities supporting them.

P&T Hong Kong team recently had the pleasure of welcoming the 3 candidates running for President in the 2026 The Hong Kong Institute of Architects Council Election Thomas Cheung, Stephen Tang and Franklin Yu for a meet and greet session at our office.

At the event, the candidates each presented their manifestos, followed by a panel discussion moderated by P&T Directors, Joel Chan and Vivien Mak, which sparked many lively exchanges at the office.

We thank the 3 candidates for their openness in the session and to our colleagues for their active engagement. The session was genuinely inspiring exactly the kind of conversation that moves our profession forward.

A contemporary interpretation of Vietnamese architecture.

The proposed University of Economics & Business (UEB) campus in Hòa Lạc doesn't rely on iconic forms to create identity.

Instead, the architecture is shaped by Vietnam's climate, culture and landscape. Shaded arcades, breathable façades, elevated connections and generous indoor-outdoor spaces work together to maximise natural light, encourage ventilation and create comfortable environments throughout the campus.

It's an architectural language rooted in performance rather than ornament, one that responds to place while supporting flexibility, wellbeing and long-term resilience.

From early studies to a resolved design.

Throughout the development of PIXEL DHCC, physical models have been used at different scales to explore, test and refine the architecture.

Early models focused on the bigger picture, studying massing, proportions and the relationship between the building’s different volumes. As the design progressed, larger-scale models allowed the team to examine the architecture in greater detail, from the façade and ground-level experience to how individual elements come together.

A physical model remains a valuable part of the design process, providing another way to understand scale, proportion and spatial relationships beyond the screen.

As part of the feature, Mahmoud reflects on P&T projects including PIXEL DHCC and Dubai CommerCity, sharing his perspective on sustainability, commercial value and creating architecture that responds to its context and delivers lasting value.

A new chapter for P&T Shanghai.

P&T Group Shanghai has officially relocated to its new office at Xintai Center.

More than a change of address, the move marks the next chapter in our long-standing relationship with Shanghai, a city we have grown alongside for more than a century.

For over three decades, our former Shanghai studio was home to countless ideas, collaborations and projects, supporting hundreds of designs from the first sketch through to completion.

From Shanghai Landmark, Times Square and Raffles City to Shanghai IFC, Hongqiao The Hub, Dream Center and Xujiahui ITC, our Shanghai team has contributed to mixed-use developments, super high-rise buildings, corporate headquarters and urban regeneration projects across the city. Many of these projects and ideas went on to extend beyond Shanghai, contributing to evolving skylines across China.

Our new studio carries this legacy forward.

Designed around openness, collaboration and exchange, the new workplace reflects P&T’s approach to balancing aesthetics and functionality, with careful consideration given to light, materials and technology.

It is a new environment for our teams to develop ideas, collaborate with clients and partners, and continue shaping the cities and communities we serve.

Designed with an iconic “Gateway” architectural language, the development unifies a series of interconnected buildings, creating a powerful symbol for the city while seamlessly integrating with the surrounding residential community.
