Our holistic design response is one by which a layered spatial experience flows from the point of entry all the way into the interior – the building reveals itself gradually.

Light and orientation affect how spaces are experienced, but also how the building itself responds throughout the day.

Hikers, sailors as well as architects study controur maps to understant terrain. Sites are rarely perfectly flat. By analyzing topographical maps, architects can determine the best placements and approaches, taking into account factors such as water drainage and views.

Connection to place is about the way architecture engages with its surroundings, how it settles into the landscape, responds to orientation, and relates to the local context. The experience of space is always linked to its environment: the light, the views, the sounds, and the textures that shape it.
When a building is attuned to its locus: its specific topography and atmosphere, it gains a sense of belonging. In this way, architecture becomes a continuation of place rather than an interruption of it.

The Japanese art of kintsugi, repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold, reminds us that imperfection can add depth and identity. In architecture too, unexpected incidents and small flaws are inevitable; sometimes, they are what give a space its unique presence.
A single imperfection on a concrete surface might seem accidental, yet through repetition, it transforms into texture. By designing with them in mind, we can transform chance into character.

Models

2D drawings form the base of the design, and models allow us to quickly explore how ideas take shape in space. These early models are built simply and intuitively, helping to understand the feel of individual spaces and how they relate to one another and their surroundings. Through building and rebuilding, the design naturally evolves, finding clarity through iteration.

Spiral Staircases

The spiral staircase embodies a vertical experience of form. It shapes how one perceives height and transition within a space. Compact in form yet expressive in presence, the spiral staircase connects spaces while maintaining visual openness. As a sustainable solution, it minimises the footprint of vertical circulation while enriching the spatial experience through its sculptural form.
