Are you curious how a garden designed by me looks like 1 year after it’s construction? Have a look at the pictures then! The Hamburg Botanic Garden offers visitors an insight into the world's landscapes on 24 hectares 🌼Founded 200 years ago, the garden includes a Japanese garden, a Chinese garden, an alpine garden, a herb garden, a cottage garden and many other attractions. ⛩Well worth a visit if you are in the area! I think one of the most beautiful parks in the world is Planten un Blomen in Hamburg. 🌸
Why? For one thing, even tough it’s in the heart of the city it has many very secluded corners. It also has a lot of edible plants e.g. wild onion, tulip petals, dandelions.
In addition, although it is man-made, it has a very natural feel with lakes and wildflower meadows.
Most of the plants are perennials, which are more resilient towards to climate change, and the city saves a lot of money by having to buy fewer annuals.
