We make our own homemade coconut oil, also for sale and prepare delicious „pepes“ from the coconut flesh that remains from the oil production. The inside is either chicken or can also be mushrooms mixed in bumbu (mixed Balinese spices) and coconut meat wrapped in banana leaves and grilled. Have you ever tried pepes?

CEREMONIES
In Bali are one essential part of daily life! To be mindful and grateful every day as well as honoring what we have.
Especially when there are big ceremonies like in our temple in Penestanan for the next days, the community comes together for Odalan (6 months ceremony)preparing, decorating and celebrating together. Have you seen a big ceremony in Bali yet?

Canang oder auch canang sari, that’s how we call the little flower baskets that you find everywhere in the island. It’s our daily ritual that we do, to honor the gods and keep the balance on earth between heaven and the evil spirits from below. The placement as well as the colors of the flowers and the things we use have all it’s own meaning. Do you want to learn more about canang sari and how to make them? Come to one of our classes! Ngaben! That’s how we call our cremation ceremonies here in Bali! Normally we wait 3-5 years until a cremation is happening in the village, we burn several people together at this event. This one was very special, since one of our village mangku (priests) died and the ceremony had to take place immediately after he died. Have you ever seen a large ceremony like this in Bali?
