I discovered a passion for horticulture when I worked on organic farms while travelling. I learned how to garden while working with natural systems rather than against them. I wanted to learn more so I returned home to Ir

eland and studied horticulture, organic horticulture, permaculture and environmental science. After working in horticulture for a couple of years, I set up my own business creating and maintaining gardens, so I could run it with integrity and care without compromising my ethics. My main focus is creating gardens that include wildlife habitats and/or food but I will happily take on any gardening work that does not require the use of harmful chemicals. I have been teaching horticulture since 2016, for CDETB, LOETB and Coole Eco Community. I co-founded Coole Eco Community, a land-based intentional community in County Offlay in 2020. Here, I designed, created and managed forest gardens, syntropic agroforestry systems and multi-purpose, biodiverse hedges. I cuurently live in County Offaly and have a base in Dublin also. Old garden roses underplanted with phacelia. As well as looking good and complimenting the roses, phacelia improves the soil, keeps weeds at bay and attracts hoverflies which eat aphids. Phacelia is also great for pollinators.

Thriving vegetble and wildlife flower gardens made possible by willow windbreak hedges. 3 years ago, this was an exposed field in which alomost nothing would grow. Willow is quick growing, has medicinal properties and supports up to 400 species of birds and insects.
