Well hello September! You sprung up quickly! 😮 I feel like August sped by in a blur! Can you believe this is our last full week here before the big move!

It was a busy month with the move and work keeping me on my toes, but with some lovely moments in between. Swipe for a few.

It’s Miss Liv’s 17th birthday today so packing will be put aside for cake and fun!! 🎂 🎈

Started packing up the pink home office of dreams yesterday 😭😭 Can’t lie, it was pretty emotional!
I wish we could take this whole space with me. I know it might be a while before I get to do the office space in our new house. My 𝐮𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡.𝐜𝐨𝐦 award I won for it is safely boxed and packed away.

Our lil birthday baby! Look at those eyes!! 17 years sure goes fast..

And now 17!! Such a great night seeing The Prodigy in Dublin recently.

Our lil fur girl has been off her food! Most unusual! Guessing she’s unsettled with all the move chaos.

Getting to try on this beautiful Neev Ireland | Home Linens & Apparel |📍Dublin jacket for a photo shoot!

Client project incoming with this fabulous stair runner sourced on Etsy! Leaning in to the colours with this gorgeous red for the stairs.

Very little in bloom in the garden but picking some little pots of flowers always makes me happy.

When you’re busy working, but your eye is distracted and you can’t help but take a pic!! I will definitely miss this view.

Picking a few hydrangeas from the garden. They haven’t been great with the dry weather but I love it when they turn to the faded pink.

Boho blouse season.. love this pretty one I picked up in Italy in the summer.

Colour inspiration from nature!

When the roadside view stops you in your car tracks and you have to take a pic 😅

Last capture of late summer flowers in this corner.. I have a sneaky love for a gladioli! Maybe it’s a Smiths thing 😅

Lovely catch up visit to a client and this ArtistGMD Gavin | Bray print I bought them worked so well with their kitchen colours… the fab dining bench is by Sofa So Good isn’t it amazing!

Talk about a score! These amazing old windows we picked up on the freecycle site are the start of a project we are planning!! They will be for the summer house we want to build in the new garden!

Client Before & After with AZ PLUMBING & HEATING LTD …

Delighted to have another space finished in our Killiney project. This small family bathroom just didn’t work on a practical level. But even small spaces can have the biggest impact in terms of change!

Using the beautiful view of trees from the window as our inspiration, the brief was to create a cosy and calming bathroom sanctuary, with a palette of neutrals and soft green!

Swipe to see some of the before’s and the challenges we faced when reworking this small bathroom design.

We partnered with the brilliant team of AZ PLUMBING & HEATING LTD who did an amazing job on full fit-out from start to finish on this one, despite some challenges along the way with this tricky space. Fabulous attention to detail and an immaculate finish, we can’t recommend the team enough! Thank you Kalvin!

Project details:
All bathroom fixtures and fittings from RT Large via AZ PLUMBING & HEATING LTD

Wall and wood effect floor tiles - Delforno Tiles & Timber

Paint and lighting from Stillorgan Decor

We have final decisions made for phase three of this project - hallway and bedrooms happening next. Pop to my stories to see the fabulous stair runner the client is going for.

Kinda chic to holiday in the home of chic - France!

I know, I can’t believe I fell for this trend either 🤦🏼‍♀️ but hey, but when you’ve been on holiday in the home of the origins of the word chic, it’s only right, am I right?

We had a fabulous couple of weeks, starting in La Rochelle for a short stop before spending two fabulous weeks on the beautiful Island of Île d’Oléron. Pretty streets, beautiful beaches, flea markets, colour inspiration and pretty things everywhere we went! It had it all! Swipe and see…

This first image is from the beautiful boutique hotel we stayed in for a night in La Rochelle - St Nicholas Le Saint Nicolas - La Rochelle which I can’t recommend highly enough! The interiors were divine!

We flew to beautiful La Rochelle and loved strolling through this pretty city.

Pretty La Rochelle in the evening light.

Interior p**n! Loved the amazing interiors of the hotel. I mean, the coolest bathroom!

On to the island of Île d’Oléron, about an hour drive from La Rochelle. Such a pretty island, full of these colourful oyster huts and creative hubs!

Had so much love for this flea market story I’m sharing it again!

And our Brocante exploring… if only we had a van I’d have loaded it high. 🤣

Kinda chic to enjoy pretty skies with my boy..

And Epic sunsets!

Strolling on Amazing beaches!

With sand stretching for miles…

Kinda chic to hop on a yacht and explore the island!

Definitely chic to get dressed up with your girl…

Kinda chic to pass earrings to your daughter you’ve had since the 90’s!

Capturing pretty moments whenever you go! Loved the town of Le Château-d’Oléron.

Visit the amazing lighthouse and Saint Denis.

Kinda chic to stroll pretty streets and take it all in…

We all took part in the colour aesthetic holiday challenge doing the rounds on socials! I got pink and had lots of fun snapping away! How to whittle down more than 30 photos to 9! 😵🤣

Kinda chic finding colour inspiration wherever you go and making palettes! This green against the sandstone 🫠🫠.

When your drink is a colour palette! We had some great evenings in the Bus Stop bar, a really cool place to hang out in Saint Pierre.

I have exciting news..
I’ve made the 𝐮𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡.𝐜𝐨𝐦 finals!!

We are currently still away having the best time in Île d’Oléron, France, but I couldn’t not use this opportunity to break my insta break and share my news. 😍

I’ve made the finals in the ‘Best Seasonal Styling’ category, sponsored by Lights4fun

As you know it’s always my happy place, switching off my chaotic mind and simply being in the moment and styling…

Working with what’s in season, to style and create magical, inviting, whimsical interiors…

As a biophilic interior stylist, I love creating seasonal displays using nature as my inspiration. A passionate advocate for sustainability, my designs and schemes always focus around the use of natural materials and limiting plastics. I adopt the ‘grown not flown’ mantra and use what’s in season, grown locally or foraged from my garden or hedgerow.

For me, the magic formula is mixing old and new together…

Sometimes getting creative with colours, sometimes keeping it super tonal.

Avoiding plastics and using whatever natural materials I can get my hands on. I very often make my own Christmas garlands from scratch using evergreens branches.

Whether that’s inside or outside! But preferably outside and in the amazing summer we’ve had!

I’m so grateful to have made the finals again! Winning last year for best home office was definitely one of the highlights of 2025!

This is myself and the amazingly talented designer Sal Sal with our trophies…

A huge thank you to everyone who voted for me! It’s meant so much! I feel beyond grateful for your support.

I’m so looking forward to the finals and meeting all the amazing shortlisted finalists!

My category is so strong, with some super talented creators and stylists: Pandora Maxton Lou Lou Crane Estelle Bilson Creative Janice Bristow

So thank you to 𝐮𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡.𝐜𝐨𝐦 Metro UK Lights4fun and all the judges for selecting me again this year.

And thank you to all of you who support me, comment, like, share and make it all worthwhile! I never take it for granted.

Did you know, 22 years ago today, on a blissfully hot and sunny July day we said ‘I do’!

With all that family life throws at you, I feel so fortunate we have weathered both calm and storm. I don’t pretend ours is perfect and like any couple we have our moments, but on the whole I know we are each other’s biggest champions! Swipe along for some trips down memory lane!

Don’t worry, I won’t be foisting any marriage tips on you, I’ll leave that to the professionals. However, IMO, if you can share even one or two common interests, I do think it helps! Luckily we have several! A shared love of music, art, a meander round a flea/vintage market/shop, walks in nature.

My beautiful flowers in this photo of our dining room were from the main man himself! Getting all rosemantic in his old age. Thank you ArtistGMD Gavin | Bray I love them. See a close up on Stories.

It’s a busy day ahead finishing everything up as we head off to France for our holiday tomorrow. First stop La Rochelle then, Île d’Oléron. If you’ve been, hit me up with your top tips 👇.

The sunniest day! It had rained all week leading up to our wedding in the beautiful Oaks Farm barn.

35c is tricky for the photos 😅🥵

Ahh the early days! We first met in 1996! Yep, 30 years ago!
But, what was that haircut of mine I wonder 🤔

That’s better, the pixie cut! Another oldie, our courting days just before I moved to Ireland in 2002.

Another early days photo, gosh I miss that haircut, it was so easy 😅Loved that Karen Millen cardie 🫠

A baby bump! Think this one is Liv…

Our lil family, on the kids christening day.

So many adventures! So many Memories of wonderful holidays! How quickly our babies grew!

Ahhh.. in comes the Instagram days!
Who can forget our human flatlay post 🤣🤣

Some Insta-wankery

And even more wankery…
Anyone else really miss the old days of Instagram? When it was fun and no one even knew what an algorithm was let alone cared about it!

My gig mate!! Music has been a huge part of our lives and I predict we’ll be pensioners still giving it socks at them for certain!

Can’t think of anyone I’d rather share a beautiful sunset with. Happy anniversary ArtistGMD Gavin | Bray 💚💚💞💞

This isn’t the post I’d planned today, but with the news a hosepipe ban is on the way for our area of Ireland this week, I thought I’d share some of the ways I try and keep my garden alive, because let’s face it, the bees need our plants! You can use a watering can to water small amounts of plants but using brown water is a way of making it stretch further.

I’ve put a tip in the caption of each image so swipe across. Hopefully it’s helpful.

As a complete aside. Did you know, a large data centre can consume up to 18.9 million liters (5 million gallons) of water per day, comparable to the daily needs of thousands of households. So basically our watering can needs pale in to insignificance compared to these monstrous over consumers. Another reason why we need to question their huge presence here!! 23% of electricity used here is via data centres! Even the UN has cited Ireland as a cautionary tale for other countries not to follow!

Ok, off my soap box and back to the garden! 😄 If you swipe to the end you’ll see some sneak peeks of the new garden and probably the reason we went for the house! It’s looking like end of August, early September for our move - gulp!

Keep a washing up bowl in the sink and save the water accumulated in to it from things like washing veg etc over the course of the day for the garden. I simply pour excess in to watering cans unless the water is heavily soiled.

We have a condensing dryer and a dehumidifier so I’ll use that water also.

I keep a watering can and buckets by the back door to tip the sink water in to.

Not my favourite option but, we put a large trug in the shower and similarly use the accumulated water if it’s not too soapy to fill up my watering cans.

As you can see, some of my plants have already struggled with the heat. These hydrangeas are really struggling by the tree and I’ll just have to let go of them year. They aren’t a pollinator so I’m less worried.

I use a layer of green mulch (like horse manure) or stones like these on top of pots to keep more moisture in.

Pots need more water than flower beds so I will use the watering can and carefully water these more often.

Water your plants at the base of the
