Some dumped rubbish I picked up today😠
I run BGS in rural Co.Carlow with plenty of small peaceful roads, good for walking 🚶♂️and dumped rubbish is nothing but an eyesore on these roads.
Before I rant I'd like to thank community groups and volunteers up and down the country who go out of their way to pick up rubbish even if its 1 crisps packet or drink can, picking it and dumping it properly does make a huge difference and to me it is a act of kindness😇👍🏻👏
➡️To the people who dump rubbish illegally , please keep your rubbish in your car or van and wait till you get to a bin before dumping your rubbish, all your doing is damaging the environment and achieveing nothing. you are an adult you should know better than be dumping rubbish out your car window. People Should Not have to pick up your dumped rubbish.
✖️A few worst case scenarios of dumped rubbish not being picked up are👇⬇️
➡️People any age out walking with or without their pets standing on a sharp metal edge of a drink can, get a cut and end up in hospital or at a vets getting stitches
➡️Cyclists, or motorists getting a puncture on one of their tyres for the same reason as a person getting a cut
➡️A young child coming across a used needle and touching it after a person used it to inject a illegal substance into their body
➡️A farmer moving livestock between his yard and land and his livestock chews on rubbish causing serious harm to the animal and leaving the farmer at an loss because of a sick animal.
👉A few suggestions to help keep ditches litter free and pick litter up are
➡️Community groups and volunteers come, together and pick rubbish up-this does happen
➡️If living along a small road, develop a rota with your neighbours about picking rubbish.
For example house 1 picks rubbish up in April, house 2 may and so on🏡🏡, or take a point in the road that your household will work towards, then your neighbour will go from that point to the next point and so on
➡️To the volunteers and community groups who give up your time to pick rubbish, you will win and beat the litter dumpers
