Art and ecology Swift Project Youghal

I will be presenting an informative talk on our visitors from Africa and a clay workshop during Earth Rising, IMMA

After researching lack of habitat for visiting swifts, I secured three locations and the distribution of lifelong swift boxes this spring in Youghal, East Cork. This starts my longterm project.

a first for East Cork in the form of an Inbuilt swift box system which will be incorporated into the wall's of the new build for Autism at Pobalscoil na Tríonóide, Youghal this year

Did you know that there is about 30 different species of Amazon parrot? The double yellow headed, yellow naped and blue fronted amazons are the most common amazons found in the pet trade due to their ability to talk! Most of the time it is the very subtle difference in colour markings that determines which species of amazon they are!

Are you part of a community group that would like to learn all about the bees? Irish Wildlife Trust and Cork County Council are linking up to deliver these informative Online Community Workshops to groups in the Cork County administrative area.

By the end of the workshop, groups will have learnt about their local bees’ lifecycles and habitat needs as well as how to take action to create vital bee habitat and monitor their local bee population.
