A customer contacted us with a door that was causing major problems. The door wasn’t operating correctly due to a failed and damaged mechanism, an incorrect spindle bar that had previously been fitted, and a worn-out damaged handle. 🔧🚪

Sometimes replacing a window isn’t necessary… a professional repair can bring it back to life! 👌
This customer’s windows had multiple issues:

❌ Failed mechanisms
❌ Worn-out hinges
❌ Perished gaskets
❌ Broken handles
❌ Glass packed incorrectly
❌ Poor heel & toe setup causing weight distribution problems

🛠️ We carried out a complete window overhaul, replacing the handles, mechanisms, hinges, and gaskets. We also removed and correctly heel & toed the glass units, ensuring proper weight distribution and smooth operation.

🚪 The French doors also needed attention. The handles had been fitted incorrectly, with screws exposed on the exterior of the door instead of being secured internally. The handles were damaged, so we replaced them and fully adjusted the doors for perfect alignment and operation.

✨ The result? Windows and doors working smoothly, sealing correctly, looking fantastic, and performing like new once again!

🚨 Windows Seized Closed? Don’t Ignore It! 🚨

A window that won’t open isn’t just frustrating on a warm day when you want fresh air flowing through your home 🌞🏠 — it’s also a serious safety hazard. In the event of a fire or emergency, a window may be needed as an escape route. 🔥⚠️

As you can see in this video, this window was completely seized shut. The mechanism had failed and the handle was broken, leaving the window locked closed. 🔒❌
Using our specialist tools and experience, we carefully opened the window with zero damage to the frame or sash. 👨‍🔧✅ We then replaced the failed mechanism and broken handle, getting this window back opening, closing, and locking perfectly like new again! ✨

🔍❄️ CONDENSATION ISSUES? HERE’S THE REAL CAUSE! ❄️🔍
This is Part 2 of our inspection showing why these glass units failed and developed condensation between the panes. 👀
As soon as we removed the glazing beads, the cause of the problem became obvious.
🚫 Neither of the glass units had any packers fitted at the bottom, meaning both units were sitting directly in water inside the frame.
🚫 The side packers fitted were only 24mm thick, while the glass units themselves were 28mm thick. This allowed movement within the glass units, causing the glass panes to move apart from each other and eventually break the seal.
🚫 The door glass unit had severe condensation between the panes and was also packed incorrectly, with several small packers fitted only in the top left corner.
🚫 Poor packing and incorrect installation allowed the glass units to move, sit in water, and ultimately fail, allowing moisture to enter between the panes and create condensation.
✅ We removed the failed glass units.
✅ Supplied and fitted new Double Soft K Toughened Glass Units.
✅ Correctly packed and glazed the units.
✅ Heel and toe glazed correctly to ensure the weight of the glass is distributed properly and to prevent future movement within the frame.
✅ Restored crystal-clear vision and improved energy efficiency.
✨ The windows and door are now looking crystal clear, working correctly, and performing like new again.
