A rear extension specifically designed for a historic 19th-century house. Without altering the original building, the transition from old to new is achieved through a bright corridor overlooking the internal courtyard. This creates an interplay between enclosed and open spaces, enhanced by both artificial and natural light. On one hand, the unexpected quality of this space generates a sense of surprise; on the other, it establishes a gradual transition towards the rear garden.

"Our family worked with Marta on a rebuild of a derelict cottage in Greystones. Her skills in building restoration were very useful as the cottage was sitting against a very old wall and it was very tricky to achieve a solid structure. Marta is super reliable and very skilled at ensuring that all the regulations are followed to the letter, and she had a very strong relationship with our builder which made the project run very smoothly. She also has good skills in interior design and we used her as a partner in many aspects of the interior as well. I personally greatly valued how responsive she was with communication as this is perhaps the most important thing of all! We love the final result, and it was done both on time and on budget. almost finished! an interior renovation with the heart in the kitchen projected outwards through a rear extension decorated with warm bricks! an elegant result thanks to the refined taste of the owner and the excellent work of the builder, always attentive to details!
