An emergency repair carried out at a commercial premises after a burglary. A window was forced open causing damage to the hinges and breaking the double glazed unit.
The initial call was received at 10:30 and the work was completed before 2pm.

So this week we received a two page letter from AIB to tell us that a recently lodged cheque had been misread and we were 1 cent poorer than we'd thought. 1 cent! A two page letter and one postage stamp to tell us that 1 cent was going to be taken from our account. All credit to transparency (said in the voice of Roy Keane) but what an absolute waste of time, resources and money.

Covid 19 update.

The government of Ireland recognises emergency window repairs as an essential service. However, given that our work usually involves visiting many different people at their homes or business, a great degree of caution is necessary.
With this in mind we are offering a very limited emergency service only.

I apologise in advance to the customers whom we will no get to.

New pet flap fitted into a double glazed unit.

It is not possible to cut a hole in existing glass like James Bond or a TV jewel thief but it is possible to have a hole cut into new glass or double glazing. So if you want to give moggy or pooch his or her own private entrance it can be done!

This customer chose a very sophisticated electronic system that can read the pets micro chip and as you can see the cat was very pleased with her new entrance!
If you want to know the cost of a similar job simply measure the approximate size of the pane of glass to be replaced and give us a call or send an email with a picture. Once you have purchased the pet flap we will call to examine it and then have the new glass or double glazing manufactured to suit.

If you want to save money when repairing your windows, consider replacing the glass yourself. This fantastic video from 1972 is as accurate today as it was then!
The same rules apply for locks, handles and hinges!

I am pleased to announce that Ambassador Windows has achieved the technical and quality standards required to receive certification as a locksmith.

We are now certified by EQA and licensed by the PSA. We are the only dedicated window repair company in Ireland with this certification. The whole process was long, tedious and a massive pain is the ASS.

New opening windows installed in large fixed window.
We started on at 7:30am and finished at 9:30 with 30 minutes to spare before opening.

We had a most unusual repair today. A customer who had just moved into their house found it impossible to open their front windows.
The reason: The previous owner, for security reasons, had secured the windows shut using 4 inch bolts. These were expertly hidden because the person who did this removed the glass before bolting through the section, thus concealing any evidence of the job once the glass had been refitted.
A serious potential head scratcher but quickly solved this time!

New regulations for building standards came into force this summer. They cover a number of safety issues in rented accommodation. If you have a house or apartment that you let, or are renting yourself, this applies to you.
This legislation is aimed at rented accommodation but every home should be a safe place for those that live there. It is relatively inexpensive to have child locks fitted and fire extinguishers and fire blankets are available in places like Woodies. If you don't have working smoke alarms in your home already you should go out today and buy them.

New Housing Standards Regulations for Rental Properties came into effect on 1st July 2017. Ensure your windows meet fire and safety regulations.
