Royal Umm Ali (Authentic Egyptian Bread Pudding)

Ingredients:

4-6 sheets Puff Pastry (or 2 large plain croissants), torn into pieces

2 cups Whole Milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)

1/4 cup mixed Nuts (pistachios, almonds, toasted)

1/4 cup shredded Coconut

2 tbsp Raisins

1 tsp Vanilla extract

Pinch of cinnamon

*Note: Never use custard powder or shortcuts!*

Instructions:

1. Pre-heat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Toast puff pastry pieces in oven until dry and golden (5-7 min).

3. Place toasted pastry, half the nuts, all the coconut, raisins, cinnamon, and vanilla into 4 ramekins or a 9x9 baking dish.

4. In a small pot, bring milk, cream, and sugar to a slow simmer. Do not boil. 5. Pour the hot milk mixture over the pastry and let sit for 5 minutes.

6. Top with remaining nuts and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbling.

7. Serve warm. Enjoy!

⚠️ ALERTE ATTENTAT GOURMAND : LE 100% FAIT MAISON ! 🥐🍫✨
Il n'y a rien de plus irrésistible que l'odeur des viennoiseries chaudes qui sortent du four... Et si on les faisait à la main, sans machine ? 😍
L'Atelier de Cindy vous livre le secret de pains au chocolat ultra-feuilletés, dorés et croustillants à souhait. Un pur bonheur à partager (ou à garder pour soi ! 😉).

⏱️ En résumé :
Préparation : 30 min (un peu de patience pour le repos, mais ça en vaut tellement la peine !)
Cuisson : 15 à 18 min à 200°C
Résultat : 10 magnifiques pains au chocolat individuels.

📋 Les ingrédients magiques :
Pour la pâte : 500g de farine T45, 60g de sucre, 10g de sel, 20g de levure fraîche, 250ml de lait entier froid (et 1 œuf pour la richesse !).
Pour le feuilletage : 250g de bon beurre doux bien froid (minimum 82% de MG).
Pour la garniture : 20 barres de chocolat spéciales viennoiserie.

💡 Le secret de Cindy : Travaillez dans une pièce fraîche et respectez bien les temps de repos au réfrigérateur pour que le beurre ne fonde pas. C'est l'assurance d'un feuilletage digne d'un grand boulanger ! 🥖
