Chlorine or chlorine-free — which mould treatment should you use?

They’re both effective, but the right one depends on where you’re using it.

Chlorine-based: stronger, but has a much stronger smell and can affect sensitive surfaces.
Chlorine-free: a better option for areas with limited ventilation or around sensitive surfaces, children and pets.

So before you reach for the strongest one, think about where you're using it first.

Need help choosing? Comment “MOULD” and we’ll send you the link.

How many coats of paint do you actually need?

The answer isn't always “two coats” — it depends on the colour you're covering, the surface you're painting and how porous it is.

And one big mistake? Lashing on loads of paint for the first coat. Thin, even coats will give you much better coverage and a better final finish.

The top coat is where you want that colour to really come alive.

Need advice before you start painting? Pop into Decwells on South Great George’s Street and ask the team.

This sold out in less than TWO DAYS last time… and it's finally back.

As we head into colder, wetter weather, drying clothes can become a serious pain especially if you don't want to run a traditional tumble dryer constantly.

This hanging clothes dryer is a compact alternative:

👕 Hang a full load inside
💨 Air dries your clothes rather than tumbling them
⏱️ Around 40 minutes for a load in my experience
📦 Folds away when you're finished
💶 €99

And importantly, a point raised in the comments last time was absolutely correct:

If you're drying clothes indoors, make sure the room is properly ventilated. Moisture needs somewhere to go, otherwise you can end up with condensation and damp.

I keep mine beside a window/door for that reason.

Small, convenient and potentially a great option for getting clothes dry without taking up loads of space.

3 car disasters. 1 gadget that could get you out of trouble.

Flat battery? Slow puncture? Tyre pressure too low? Running out of phone charge

If you're heading off on road trips, adventures or just driving around every day, this little Car Companion is worth keeping in the boot.

It combines:

🔋 Jump starter for a flat car battery
🛞 Built-in tyre compressor for topping up your tyres
🔋 A 8,000mah powerbank for your phone

And with a new driver like Hannah, having something like this in the boot could mean avoiding a very stressful roadside situation.

€99 — and potentially a very useful bit of kit when you need it most.

If you like fixing your own tech, you need one of these.

This tiny screwdriver kit lives in my bag because you never know when you'll need it.

You get 24 different bits, including some of the more unusual ones like pentalobe bits used on Apple devices, all packed into a compact little aluminium set.

Perfect for small repairs, opening up devices or simply having the right bit when you need it.

And let's be honest… there's nothing worse than having the right screwdriver in mind and absolutely none in the drawer. 😂
