There are two ranges, ‘Coastal Studies’ by Simon Hoe, and ‘Burren Images’ by Blaithin Quinn, artists with a passion for the country, but with very different perspectives. imon Hoe is inspired by the mood of the moment, reflecting the diversity of the landscape. A turbulent bay in bright sunlight is rich in colour, foam waves and movement are implied by quick brushwork. A tranquil hazy day is remembered through gently overlapping and fusing colours. Blaithin Quinn evokes textures of Irish landscapes and seascapes. The imagination can create endless possibilities. A slow evening sunset of rich colour, the rock pattern on a quiet seashore or the reflected light of summer emerge from these images.
