What a difference 5 hours in water makes. These peonies arrived in tight bud , 5 hours later they are starting to open into the stunning ruffed blooms they are famous for. It’s always amazing to watch the transformation . Fresh , high quality stems make all the difference, rewarding you bigger blooms, vibrant colours and a longer vase life. cut

We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the thousands of kind messages, comments, memories shared with us over the last few days.
Thank you so much for your support, your loyalty and friendship over the years - it truly means the world to us.
We would like to reassure everyone that we are only closing our city centre shop.Mr Middleton will continue and will continue providing a nationwide delivery service with all your favourite plants, bulbs, and gardening goodies online and by mail order.
Our final day will be June 6th ,so we hope many of you might call in before then to say your goodbyes.
Don’t worry -the shop is still fully stocked with lots of wonderful gardening treasures waiting to be discovered.
From all of us at Mr Middleton ,thank you for been part of our story since 1974 .

After almost 40 years in the heart of the city, we have made the difficult decision to close our city centre shop and focus fully on the future of our mail order business.
While this is a very emotional moment for us, it’s also the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Mr Middleton . We are moving to a brand new warehouse and undertaking a major expansion- including growing more of our own plants and bulbs , alongside an even wider and more exciting range for gardeners everywhere.
The city has changed greatly since Covid and today the majority of our customers shop online. Although we are sad to close the doors of the shop , we are incredibly grateful for the loyalty, kindness , and support you have shown over the years decades. Many of you have been part of the Mr Middleton story for generations and we cannot thank you enough.
Mr Middleton is not retiring and will continue to personally manage and run the business he proudly established in 1974 . The Passion for gardening that started it all remains stronger than ever.
This is not goodbye- it is a new beginning. Thank you for being part of the journey and we look forward to forward to growing with you for many more years to come.

Our biggest vegetable plant delivery has just landed in our shop in Mary store , tomatoes , peppers,cabbage, broccoli,kale,spinach,salad leaves,lettuce,plus an excellent variety of herbs.
