Sinead Flynn B Arch Prof Dip Arch FLYNN Architects was founded in 2015 by Brian Flynn & Sinéad Flynn.

Founded in 2015, FLYNN Architects strive to provide an architecture founded on a deep analysis of contemporary client requirements, combined with an awareness of our environmental responsibilities, a fundamentals based approach to building for sustainability, and an innate appreciation of the existing urban and rural surroundings in which we operate. We understand that we must observe and react to

climate, to tradition, to function, to economy and to landscape, in order to produce an architecture that can respond to the demands of modern living in the Ireland of today, but which remains rooted in a deep understanding of the place.

Our green roof is installed, & ready for seeding with wild flowers. Looking great, & it will look even better in bloom. The roof won't be accessible, (except maintenance) but it's what we'll be looking out at every morning. It helps as well to attenuate and slow down rain water run off.

We really like this - having spent ages thinking about the best way to avoid using fussy handles, the first thing we try is a circular finger pull for our drawers. Simple is always good.

Quick visit to site to view samples and choose colours for the render: two colors, the upper level / two storey element will be a darker green colour, and the lower level will be brighter. Both working with the dark (umbra grey) colour of the powder coated aluminium. Really hope it works at a larger scale.

Slowly building our kitchen. The birch plywood is a lovely material to work with, it's heavy, consistent and stable. Lots of work to do, but we are beginning to come to terms with the task ahead.... I think.

It's not perfect, but our work is improving slowly. So pleasing when these things start to work. Plenty to figure out, but really glad to get back to work, in the sunshine, with the birds chirping away in the background.

Testing. Good to see our first trial for a drawer is working well enough.... There are a few design kinks to work out, but it's a work in progress.

At some point in the future, this will hopefully be our home office. For now, we have to enjoy the sunny photographs from the last time we could get to site... This could be my future zoom background?
