Our most recent installation in Ireland of Altech Ecosy Pellet plus, a very clean burning high heat output energy efficient soapstone stove. Beautiful and quick to heat up, on soapstone tiled hearth and back walls.

Almost 2 weeks ago we’ve been attending the open and new products day in the Altech soapstone stoves factory in the Netherlands. A festive event with lovely food and drinks meeting some fabulous colleagues while having a look in the products kitchen of the factory where we were invited to chat with employees asking questions..

I’m hearing people talking about the pollution wood burning stoves cause and did a little research … 🧐

With approx 3 million wood stove users (could be 4million) burning sustainable dry wood in their 5Kw (some bigger) stoves that's a contribution of around 15 Megawatts of power into our power supply this winter this year ie. that is more than one power station and unlike gas and electric it is not rising by 10% in cost in October . And we currently do not produce enough electricity or gas and have to buy both from abroad to supplement our own supply, Thanks to wood that extra input is actually keeping the price of Electricity and Gas from going up in price even more!
