Save the Date!

Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns Earth Day Event 2024

Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns invite you to celebrate Earth Day with us on 22nd April 2024 in Dunshaughlin Park.

This event is to display the posters our local schoolchildren have been working on, and launch the fundraising campaign for our greatly-anticipated Sensory and Remembrance Garden.

We invite you to join us from 11am to 1pm, and from 2pm to 7pm.

During this time we will exhibit posters from all our local schoolchildren, who were asked to imagine and design 'A Sensory Garden for all of us'. We will also be officially launching the campaign to build a Sensory and Remembrance Garden at 12pm.

Join us for a day of fun and inspiration at Dunshaughlin Park as we kick off the Dunshaughlin Sensory and Remembrance Garden Fundraising Campaign and celebrate Earth Day together.

Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns Group are finalising the details for our latest initiative - The Dunshaughlin Sensory and Remembrance Garden - which is to be located in Dunshaughlin Park. The Dunshaughlin Sensory and Remembrance Garden will be a big step towards creating a more inclusive and environmentally conscious community.

Please like and follow our page https://www.facebook.com/dunshaughlinsensoryandremembrancegarden for updates, an invite to our launch on 22nd April, and fundraising information!

We have the plans, but to make the Garden a reality we need the help of the entire community - and those living away from the village too! Alongside funding we hope to get, we also need community funding, and lots of support and enthusiasm.

So please like and share the page and check back regularly for updates!

The goal of this page is to raise awareness of our project and inform the community on our progress, as well as crucially providing our community with information on how to fundraise to finance the building of our garden.

Dunshaughlin Sensory and Remembrance Garden will provide a peaceful and much-needed green space within the village.

After months of work behind the scenes on this project, Dunshaughlin Tidy Towns group, in collaboration with other groups and the wider community, have finalised a Design Plan, created by award- winning landscaper designer Robert Moore of Garden Architecture.

It has a multitude of elements designed to stimulate the senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, while also offering quiet spaces for reflection and remembrance.

The Sensory and Remembrance Garden will be a Climate Action Initiative and will ensure that Dunshaughlin is proactively promoting biodiversity initiatives. The design is age-friendly and autism-friendly and will be a welcoming and accessible space.

We will be providing more information very soon about ways to collaborate, and most importantly, our fundraising efforts!
