D. Fallon Consulting Engineers (DFCE) provided extensive multi-disciplinary services to the upgrading of a pneumatic tube system in the main hospital building on the grounds of University Hospital Galway.

The project involved installation of a pneumatic tubing system & pipework to the basement and ground floor of the main hospital building (in predefined staggered work stages); construction of a new infill Plant Room on the hospital building ground floor (with several constraints); installation of a high level cladded steel enclosure to house pneumatic tubing on the exterior of the main hospital; and all builder works associated with the installation of the works pneumatic tube system and plant room.

DFCE worked closely with Varming Consulting Engineers (M&E & Design Team Lead), Maurice Johnson & Partners (Fire Safety Consultant), Careys Building Contractors Ltd (Appointed Contractor) Advanced Pneumatic Technology (APT) Ltd (Specialist Pneumatic Tube System Contractor) and the HSE West (Client) on this project.

D. Fallon Consulting Engineers (DFCE) provided extensive post-planning multi-disciplinary services to Dunmore MacHales GAA Club, on their new development which consisted of construction of a c.425m² extension and renovation to the existing clubhouse building in recent months.

The development consisted of construction of a new extension to incorporate new meeting facilities, additional WC facilities, changing rooms and a new upstairs gym space for the club. The project was successfully completed in 2021.

Works are progressing well for new housing development in Garrai Coal, Merlin Park, just outside Galway City. DFCE are delighted to be providing an array of design services for this project.

Garrai Caol is a residential development comprising 53 no. housing units in six blocks. The six blocks contain 51 no. units in a mix of one/ two/three-bedroom apartments and duplex homes. The project also includes 2 no. one bedroom townhouses.

The development is due for completion in late 2022/early 2023.

Works are progressing well for an extension project at Abbey Vocational School, Donegal Town.

DFCE are delighted to be providing Civil & Structural Services for this development for the Donegal Education & Training Board. This extension consists 6 no. general classrooms and 2 no. ASD units with associated ancillary spaces.

Works are scheduled for completion in August/September 2022.

DFCG employees recently took part in their yearly golf outing and competition, this year held in Cregmore Park Golf Club, in Co. Galway.

A fantastic day was had by all, on what turned out to be the hottest day of 2022 so far! The 9-hole competition was a close one, with only 4 shots separating the top 3 finishers.

In third place was DFCE’s Alan Armstrong, second place was taken by DFCE’s Ciaran Hanrahan, with DFBD’s Ian Kelly taking home the spoils, and the first ever DFCG ‘Golfgate’ Perpetual Trophy.

Congratulations to all on a fantastic day!
