Originally, the bungalow felt a little disconnected, with awkward transitions and spaces that were not really living up to their potential. The redesign was all about creating better flow, opening things up, and making the house work harder for busy family life.

By moving the master suite into the renovated attic, we suddenly had the chance to create a proper family bathroom downstairs, not just a functional space, but a room in its own right.

Because if you know, you know (any busy parents here?)… when kids are little, the bathroom basically becomes mission control 😅 Bath time, teeth brushing, splashing, storytelling, negotiations over pyjamas… everyone wants in at the same time.

So we designed a space that could handle the chaos beautifully: practical, playful, spacious, and calm all at once. A bathroom made for real family life, with enough room for the rituals, the mess, and all those little moments in between ✨

We’re absolutely delighted to see our Waterville family home featured in (p.115)!

This project has been such a special journey for us, working once again with Henry Hunt and Lorraine Casey to create a home that truly reflects their family life and stunning coastal surroundings.

Full of light, colour and playful moments, the design brings joy to everyday living, something we set out to achieve from the very beginning. Seeing it come to life, and now in print, makes it even more rewarding.

P.S. Check out their wonderful boutique hotel & restaurant .

Thank you for the beautiful pictures

It was a special treat to visit Gachot studio space on the top floor of the Apartment by Artemest! Work space inspo!!!!

Yesterday we went to the Apartment by and the experience was like a reminder that design and artistry are never really separate. Every object carried the hand of its maker, where function meets expression and craftsmanship becomes something more than just utility. It made us think about how good design isn’t only about how something looks or works, but about the story, intention, and human touch behind it. The kind of pieces that don’t just fill a space, but give it meaning

The Bridge Street project is one of those projects that really takes you on a journey. It was a long process and a long road, but renovating old homes is never straightforward. You never know what will be discovered behind the plaster or how long it will take from start to completion.
This one took four years. Despite that, we are still very pleased with the final result. What an addition to Bridge Street.
It is lovely to look back at where it all started. The space is almost unrecognisable after all the reconstruction. The first floor was opened up and the attic removed to create enough height for the mezzanine. We also had to reconfigure the stairs to finally get rid of that awkward “mind your head” sign 😅
The shower room was a great addition to the space and is so discreet you would barely know it is there. To keep this area free of mould, a ventilation system was installed, not just for the bathroom but for the entire building.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to take the time and invest properly in restoring these traditional Irish homes. Thanks for carrying it out to the exact specification 👌

Today’s onsite escape to a wild, windswept corner on the edge of the ocean… the kind of place that already feels a little magical before anything is even finished.
We are nearly there. The restaurant opens this Friday.
Go on… book the dinner. If not for the food, then at least for the delightfully enchanting experience waiting for you in their bathroom... 🦞🪸🐡🐠🐟

Today, on International Women’s Day, we want to celebrate friendship, camaraderie, and the journey we share.
Three women behind EDS. We came from different corners of the world, each with very different life experiences. But one thing binds us together: a shared determination and a love for what we do.
Natalia, originally from São Paulo in Brazil, reached out to us at the end of 2021. Back then, she was living in Saudi Arabia, dreaming of a new chapter in Ireland with her Irish husband. In 2022, she joined our small design studio, and from that moment, her energy, curiosity, and dedication became a part of our everyday life.
She is one of the hardest working people we know, always eager to learn more. Over the four years with us, Natalia took countless courses, always finding time to grow, improve, and expand her skills. At almost any given week, she was learning something new, inspiring us along the way.
In the photo, she sits beside her own illustrations, created for a client’s children’s room. Natalia has a true passion for children’s interior design and books. She once confessed that most of the books in her own library are children’s books, filled with colourful illustrations!
Today, our hearts are full of pride and a touch of sadness, as Natalia steps into the next chapter of her journey. While we’ll miss her dearly at EDS, we know this is just the beginning of something extraordinary.
may your path be filled with creativity, joy, and all the adventures your heart desires ✨
With love,
Nathalie and Justina

Cheers to those mamas and papas whose Friday night is sorted 👌
A nice bedtime story, a kiss goodnight, and then a cosy evening by the fire with a glass of wine 🍷
Or maybe just a cuppa 🍵
Living the dream 😌✨

Good morning, grumpy people!
Team MORNING COFFEE or team absolutely not yet? ☕️
We’re divided in the office… Nathalie likes to wake up to the smell of coffee, while I’m here purely for the ritual of making it rather than actually drinking it.
Last week we were shooting this lovely house in Waterville with and honestly, this coffee machine was a lifesaver. And can we talk about those pocket doors? Genius for hiding the chaos after a busy breakfast when you live with three kiddos 👀✨
