How gorgeous is this? A while ago I had the absolute pleasure of helping the incredible Aoife McNamara plant her front and back gardens at her cottage in Adare, County Limerick.

This is where her beautiful brand has its shop and where she sells her incredible collections. (Love my jumper so much!)

The front entrance to the shop was planted in a more traditional way with lots of colour and romantic roses spelling across the garden but this back section which a big window faces out at was sowed up with glorious wildflowers ….and what a result!

We spent a day preparing the ground, shovelling ginormous amounts of soil (after dealing with some logistical issues ….massive thank you to Aoife‘s dad who was a lifesaver- it takes a village I mean it!) and then sowing some lovely seeds from the company connecting to nature.

What a result! Isn’t this just the most perfect backdrop for Aoife‘s colourful creations? Dreamy. So incredible when something comes together so perfectly. Thank you for trusting the wild vision lovely lady! ###

The first time I came across Feebee Foran’s work it was her products I was hooked. Forager.ie is a 100% natural skincare brand built entirely on the medicine of wild Irish plants and weeds, and it is absolutely incredible. But then you discover the woman behind it and you realise the products are just the beginning.

Feebee is a herbalist, a forager, Ireland AM’s resident plant expert, and someone who has spent years helping people see the abundance that is already growing around them. In hedgerows, in ditches, in their own back gardens. Plants that heal, that nourish, that connect us to this landscape in a way that nothing else quite does.
She’s also doing some very cool work on a community garden, which you have to check out! Superwoman!

Her talk on Monday is called Magic and Medicine with Feebee. The ancient knowledge of wild plants, what they can do, and how to bring that wisdom into everyday life. So excited about this one!

If you have ever found yourself scrolling through a gardening video at midnight and suddenly feeling completely convinced that you can and should grow everything, there is a very good chance it was a Niall McCauley video. His YouTube channel Niall Gardens has built a whole community of people who went from complete beginners to genuinely passionate growers, and he has done it by making gardening feel exciting and completely achievable for everyone.

He writes for The Irish Garden magazine, appears regularly on Ireland AM, and has been a contributor on ITV’s Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club.

His talk on Monday which I am so excited to introduce is called ‘Grow Easy on Yourself: Great Gardening, Guilt-Free’. It is all about removing the shame we put on ourselves around gardening, showing how accessible it really is, and sharing practical hints and tips to make your growing life easier. No guilt. No shortcuts you need to feel bad about.

Monday on the Garden Stage at . Someone I am really looking forward to introducing and hearing on Monday at the garden stage at Bord Bia Bloom is Amanda Sophia. She is a Feng Shui Master, geomancer and Celtic Priestess and the founder of the International Feng Shui School.

She has spent 25 years helping people understand the energy of the land beneath their feet, working with everyone from individual homeowners to DreamWorks and Bloomingdale’s, and has been featured in Vogue, Yoga Journal and Fox News.

Her talk on Monday is about how Feng Shui principles apply to gardens and outdoor spaces. How the land holds energy, how we can read it, respond to it, and design with it rather than against it. How a garden can become a space that feels genuinely balanced, alive and connected to its place in the world. Fascinating!

A few of the wonderful gardens at this years which really drew me in. What a year! There are so many powerful gardens and I was particularly taken with a couple which had a very soft and textured feel to them. Here are a couple to get started- I’ll be adding lots more as the show goes.

What caught my eye yesterday was James Purdy’s use of layering in his planting which contrasted so beautifully with the chunky boulders. Hard and soft coming together in equal measure and really setting each other off beautifully.

Those fabulous fluffy acid and pink tones of Linda Mckeown’s front section of her gorgeous space which contrasted so beautifully with a wilder softness at the back. And the powerful sculpture sitting amongst that wild.

Joe Eustace’s space was inspired – the use of repetition, materiality and triangles in planting was a dream and it looked so different from every angle. The more you looked at this guy the more you found and it was impeccably detailed and planted so delicately.

This Monday on the Garden Stage at Bord Bia Bloom I will be introducing someone whose work has helped shape the green spaces of this country for decades. Dr Christy Boylan is the national adjudicator for the Tidy Towns competition, a founding president of the Tree Council of Ireland, and the chair of the international jury for Entente Florale, the European competition for the most sustainable and beautiful towns on the continent.

He has spent his career making the case that our towns and villages can be genuinely wild, genuinely biodiverse, genuinely beautiful.

Not just hanging baskets and painted kerbs but real ecological thinking at a community level. His talk on Monday is about this: Tidy Towns, biodiversity and sustainability and what it really means to design with nature at a community scale.

This is the conversation that might just change how you see your own town. We would love to see you!

When you look. Really look. You find the magic.

Not just a quick scan while you walk- but stop-
Lean down, get close, observe.

The power of nature when you zoom into the macro of it all is awesome. I mean, how incredible are these lichen I found on Killaspugbrone beach in Strandhill the other day? I’ve been obsessing over these images since then.

The colours. The smell of salt and wet stone. The texture and tonality….The patterns…. like some fascinating wild cartography study.

Lean in. Observe. Nature is magic.
