High possibility of heavy storm damage tomorrow with storm Brendan. Please heed advise and take your time on the roads. If you come across trees down on power lines, contact the ESB immediately on 1850-372-999, power may still be live making tree live. Storm force winds will be around until early evening so please do not attempt to clear fallen branches or trees alone. Storm damage trees are extremely unpredictable, call a professional to deal with them, we have trained on highly specialist courses to deal with these exact situations.
STORM BRENDAN
In the past hour Met Éireann has upgraded the warning for Meath to Status Orange.
Strong southerly winds will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/h with gusts generally up to 130 km/h, higher in exposed areas.
Motorists should exercise extreme care and watch out for falling/fallen debris on the road and vehicles veering across the road. Control of a vehicle may be affected by strong cross winds. High sided vehicles and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to strong winds.
Pedestrians and cyclsist should wear a high visibility jacket and take extra care when near traffic or crossing the road in extremely windy conditions as a sudden gust of wind could blow you into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
This warning is valid from 8am to 3pm tomorrow Monday.
