I began my Painting Career in 2000 when I entered into a Painting and Decorating apprenticeship.This involved working 4 days with a company and one day in college. Throughout my apprenticeship I learnt all aspects of painting and decorating but even to this day I am still learning new techniques as the painting industry is constantly changing. Since 2010 the oil based paints as we used to know the

m have changed and not for the better,This is why I am now trying to used primarily water based paints. This not only benefits me but it also benefits the customer as the new water based paints have a quicker drying time,no harmful smells and stays whiter than oil based paints. A new technique being used by myself is the use of a 95% dust free dust extraction sander,so the working environment will be a lot cleaner and the customer will not be breathing in anymore dust created from the extensive preparation.
