Creative Clay Irish Ceramicist Raquel Walsh is the designer and maker behind Creative Clay. From her workshop in Co. Raquel Walsh graduated with a B.Des.

Clare Raquel creates a range of ceramic pieces that are inspired by the natural beauty of the landscape around her, in particular the Burren. Degree in Ceramics from Limerick School of Art. racteristic of Creative Clay. Her creations are influenced by the marks that time weather and use leave behind and decorated with wildflowers often found growing along the hedgerows of Ireland. (Look out for the ladybird that appears on every piece.)

Twelve years of making and suddenly I feel like a beginner again.
Discovering Maria Loram work, and her incredibly generous teachings about lava glazes and texture on Instagram and YouTube has lit a spark in me.
It has brought me straight back to my college days, that feeling of just playing and seeing what happens. Of intuitive making, trusting the process. Handing your work over to the fire to do its magic. Transforming the clay and glazes in ways I couldn't predict, and I had to relinquish control and just let it happen. These pieces are the result of experimenting, playing and getting curious.

That's why I got into clay in the first place. Somewhere along the way I'd forgotten that.
