We may have been gone a while... but not without good reason! We have been busy getting several new projects up and running for their building stage! 🏗

These three spectacular buildings couldn't be more different form eachother: One is a deep retrofit of two traditional mid terrace buildings, converting them into five apartments in Waterford City. The next is a daring design of a contemporary villa in Bunmahon and the last is a new build family home with a stunning panoramic view in Dunhill.

We're excited to see these projects progress, so check back in with us frequently to see how things take shape 👷‍♀️📐🧱

‘The approved plans, which were designed by the award-winning ROJO studio architects, include a day room, bedroom, landing and reception room on the basement upper level, with a lobby, reception room, two bathrooms, office, kitchen, dining room, living room, workshops on the ground floor and a reception room, bedroom and spa room on the first floor.’

Our clients and us are delighted with how this project in 📍Co. Waterford turned out. The popular charcoal cladding and white render combo, views of the ocean and bright and airy interiors have made our clients very happy with their new home!

We are ROJO Studio Architects, led by Bart & Agnieszka. We're based in Waterford City where we have worked on a number of large-scale residential, cultural & commercial projects, including the multiple award winning Medieval Museum in Waterford, the new House of Waterford Visitor Centre, and a great variety of commercial and residential projects.

Our approach fuses Bart's technical and management skills together with Agnieszka’s artistic approach to create truly bespoke and thoughtful architectural designs 🖌

RTE Home of the Year contender 😍

One of our favourite things about is the contrast of light and dark. The crisp white render and the burnt timber of the Shou Sugi Ban cladding work so well together.

But beyond the visual design, we particularly love that the house is compact but highly efficient. It is sustainable, economical, and proportional. And we love how the angle of the roof adds visual intrigue.

Will this be Ireland's Home of the Year for 2024? We certainly hope so!

When working on , an extension was always part of the plan. The size and footprint of the original cottage was too small for the clients’ requirements, so it was necessary to design an extension to add living space
and additional bedrooms and bathrooms.

In line with planning regulations, the size of the extension couldn't exceed the footprint of the original cottage, but as a workaround, we
increased floor space by adding a dormer upstairs with 2 x ensuite bedrooms.

The result is a beautiful home with plenty of space for the current residents to live and entertain, with spare rooms for overnight guests.
