אתר הנצחה ומורשת_יחידת מגלן

אנחנו גאים לשתף בפרויקט בעל משמעות עמוקה ביותר, שביצועו החל עתה - מרכז ההנצחה והמורשת של יחידת מגלן, בבסיס האם שלה. יחידת מגלן היא יחידת עילית, המבצעת כבר ארבעה עשורים פעילות מבצעית מורכבת בעומק שטח האויב. מספר חודשים לאחר ה 7 באוקטובר, אחרי אותו יום נורא ותוך כדי האובדן הקשה מנשוא של המלחמה שעוד היתה בעיצומה, התבקשנו לקחת חלק במשימה הכל כך חשובה וכואבת ומיד נענינו.
לב הפרויקט הוא ההוקרה למשפחות הנופלים ולצד זה הנכחת תקומה וצמיחה לחיילי וחיילות היחידה, במרחב משולב של הנצחה, מורשת מבצעית ושיח לוחמים שישמש כמתחם חי, נושם ופעיל בו משתמשים לוחמי היחידה, המשפחות השכולות ומבקרים חיצוניים כגון תורמים.
בתכנון האדריכלי הצבנו כמטרה, ליצור בית עבור חיילי וחיילות היחידה בעבר ובהווה ובני משפחותיהם.
השביל המרכזי החוצה את האתר ומחבר בין מגורי החיילים למבני היחידה ולחדר האוכל, מהדהד את אהבת הארץ וההליכה בשביליה. הסתעפויות השביל יובילו אל פינות ישיבה מוצלות, מתקני משחק וספורט, ואמפיתיאטרון. לאורך השבילים בגן יותקנו לוחות מורשת שיספרו את סיפורה של מגלן.
השביל המרכזי חולף ליד מבנה חדר כושר קיים שאת חזיתו פתחנו כלפי הגן החדש. הוא ממשיך אל מרכז הזכרון והמורשת, מבנה זכרון אישי וחדר תדריכים. המבנים החדשים מתאפיינים בצללית נמוכה ופשוטה המבקשת להטמע בנוף, בדומה לציפור המגלן המרשימה המצטיינת ביכולת הסוואה והיטמעות בסביבה. השפה האדריכלית פשוטה ומצומצמת, המבנים החדשים יהיו פשוטים בצורתם, בעלי נוכחות ועוצמה, אך גם יטמעו בסביבתם. המבנים בנויים חומרים גולמיים בעלי נוכחות ועמידות. המבנים יהיו עטופים בגביונים - רשתות מתכת מלאות באבנים קטנות מקומיות המהוות פרשנות מעודנת לאלמנט המיגון הצבאי ולהיטמעות בסביבה, לצד לוחות מתכת מלוטשים כמראה, המשקפים את השמים ומהדהדים את האור, את הציפור הנעלמת בנוף, את האופק ואת הצמחים. לוחות אלה הם אלמנט אדריכלי של הסוואה מודרנית המשתנה לאורך שעות היום. הקרקע מכוסה בשכבת חלוקי נחל בהירים, עצים מצלים גדולים המותאמים לאקלים הישראלי. אולם הנצחה ומורשת יפעל בטכנולוגיה דיגיטלית מתקדמת לשימוש בכל ימות השנה ובמועדים מיוחדים. בצמוד אליו, אמפיתיאטרון למפגשי לוחמים ופינות ישיבה מוצלות לשיח צוות. התוצאה היא מרחב המכבד את זכר הנופלים ואת בני משפחותיהם, תוך יצירת מוקד חברתי ומקצועי שמשקף את ערכי הרעות, אהבת הארץ והשליחות של משרתי ומשרתות היחידה.
תכנון המתחם נעשה תוך כדי מלחמת חרבות ברזל בתנאים לא פשוטים, רשימה ארוכה ומכובדת של בעלי מקצוע מהשורה הראשונה תרמו מיכולתם ומנסיונם, ועל כך תודתנו.
את הפרויקט מובילה עמותת ידידי מגלן.

We are proud to share a project of profound significance, which has recently broken ground: the Maglan Memorial and Heritage Centre, located at its home base. The Maglan Unit is an elite commando unit that has conducted complex operational activities deep behind enemy lines for four decades. A few months after October 7th, following that horrific day and amidst the unbearable losses of the ongoing war, we were asked to take part in this vital and painful mission, and we immediately stepped forward.
At the heart of the project is the tribute to the families of the fallen, alongside the presence of revival and growth for the unit's soldiers. It is an integrated space of commemoration, operational heritage, and combatant discourse, serving as a living, breathing hub for the unit's soldiers, bereaved families, and visitors such as donors.
Our architectural goal was to create a home for the unit's soldiers—past and present—and their families. The central path crossing the site, connecting the soldiers' quarters to the unit's buildings and the dining hall, echoes the love of the land and the act of walking its trails. Branches of the path lead to shaded seating areas, playground and sports facilities, and an amphitheater. Along the garden paths, heritage plaques will be installed to tell the story of Maglan.
The central path passes an existing gym building, whose facade we opened toward the new garden. It continues to the Memory and Heritage Center, a personal memorial building, and a briefing room. The new structures feature a low, simple silhouette designed to blend into the landscape, much like the impressive Ibis (Maglan) bird, known for its exceptional camouflage and integration into its surroundings. The architectural language is minimalist and restrained; the new buildings are simple in form, possessing presence and strength while remaining embedded in the environment.
Constructed from raw, durable materials, the new buildings are wrapped in gabions—metal cages filled with local stones—offering a refined interpretation of military fortification and environmental integration. Alongside these are mirror-polished metal panels that reflect the sky, echoing light, the bird vanishing into the landscape, the horizon, and the trees. These panels serve as an architectural element of modern camouflage that shifts throughout the day. The ground is covered in a layer of light river pebbles and large shade trees suited to the Israeli climate.
The Commemoration and Heritage Hall will utilize advanced digital technology for year-round use and special ceremonies. Adjacent to it are an amphitheater for unit gatherings and shaded seating areas for team discussions. The result is a space that honors the memory of the fallen and their families, while creating a social and professional focal point that reflects the values of camaraderie, love of the land, and the sense of mission of the unit's servicemen and women.
The complex was planned during the "Swords of Iron" war under challenging conditions. A long and distinguished list of top-tier professionals contributed their skills and experience, for which we are deeply grateful. The project is led by the Maglan Friends Association.
