You know how you want your bathroom to feel, but you're not quite sure how to get there?

That's something I help my clients with all the time.

These three master bathrooms were in different homes in the same complex, and the space we had available was almost identical.

But one client wanted warmth with natural wood tones. Another wanted something that felt cool, calm and relaxing. And the third wanted it to feel elegant and sophisticated.

My job is to take that feeling you're looking for and work out how to bring it to life through the layout, colours, materials, lighting and all the other decisions that go into a bathroom renovation.

Knowing what you like is one thing, knowing how to put it altogether is another.

A bathroom can be practical without being boring.

The combination of the large arched gold mirror and the curved pendant light are definitely features that catch your eye first and give the space character.

Other details you may not notice right away. Two sinks with wall mounted faucets for a cleaner look, a laundry drawer tucked inside the storage cabinet (because who wants a laundry basket taking up space in the bathroom?!), and a shower door that opens inwards to keep the water where it belongs when you get out of the shower.

The best designs aren't just about how a room looks in a photograph, it's about the balance of making the room look good, but also thinking about how you'll actually use it every day that makes the difference.

I always thought bathrooms needed one ceiling light with one switch. That was pretty much it. You have the light in the middle of the room, the switch by the door, and move on.

Now I think about what you're doing in the bathroom.

Showering? You want good even light.
Applying makeup? You need light on your face, not just bright light above your head.
Getting up in the night? You don't want to switch on the whole bathroom.
Cleaning? Yep, you're going to want to see everything.
And then there's the atmosphere. Because a bathroom doesn't always need to feel like a bathroom.

So now, when I design a bathroom, I'm thinking about layers of lighting, where the light is coming from, what each one is doing and which ones need their own switches.

It's one of those things you don't necessarily notice when a bathroom is designed well.
But you definitely notice when it isn't.

This is why I love the details of designing a bathroom. It's not just about choosing pretty tiles. It's about thinking through how you're going to live in the space.

The chagim are over. The kids are back at school. And now there's time to think about all the things you've been putting off...

Renovating the bathroom might not have been top of your to-do list in the last month, but if you've been thinking "we really need to do something about this bathroom", now is a good time to start thinking about it.

A renovation takes time. There's planning, decisions, selections, ordering, contractors and, of course, making sure the end result actually works for the way you live.

This bathroom is a great example.

When this couple approached me, their master bathroom hadn't been touched since they bought their home about 15 years ago. They knew the layout wasn't working for them, but they weren't sure what needed to change.

We started with an on site consultation, talked through how they wanted to use the space, took some measurements, and the ideas just flowed.

The result was a completely reworked layout with both bath, shower and much-needed the storage and a bathroom that feels so much more spacious and considered.

So if a renovation has been sitting on your 'אחרי החגים' list, now is the time to set up your free initial call.

The biggest misconception about interior design?

That it's glamorous.

Demolition, dust, noise, mess, site visits (with no AC), marking plans on walls, problem solving, measuring, double checking.

Beautiful interiors are built on hundreds of decisions that most people never see and a lot of unglamorous work. You have to trust the process.

It's not always pretty. But I love it! And the results are worth it... Stay tuned...!

A smooth renovation isn't luck. It's the result of good planning.

Initial steps of this full home renovation began in March, and by December my clients moved into their beautifully transformed home.

Having time to plan, discuss options and make thoughtful decisions meant we could create a home that truly works for them.

My clients trusted me to guide them through the process, from the design decisions to liaising with the contractor and suppliers, and it was a pleasure to be part of their journey.

"It was a pleasure to work with Efrat. We both have limited Hebrew so to have Efrat at our side throughout the Shiputz was absolutely amazing. In addition her ideas on the design of the Shiputz and her eye for detail has created an apartment we really enjoy living in."

Their feedback means a lot to me. Knowing they love their new home gives me so much satisfaction. But knowing they felt supported and confident throughout the renovation is just as important to me.

Thank you for trusting me with your home.

Good design isn't always about making a room bigger. Sometimes it's about making it work better.

In this bathroom, we didn't gain a single cm, but by rethinking the layout, the space feels so much larger and functions so much better.

We moved the door, relocated the vanity, replaced the bath with a full width shower, and created a layout with room to move comfortably, dry off and even add a heated towel rail.

The best renovations aren't just beautiful, they make everyday life easier.

Living and designing so close to Jerusalem, it’s impossible not to be inspired by it.

The stone, the light, the layers of history and modern life existing side by side.

Even in design, I’m always drawn to spaces that feel warm, rooted, textured, and full of soul, and I think Jerusalem influences that more than I realise.

It’s not only about how a space looks at the end.

It’s about the process that gets you there.

Design projects involve a lot of moving parts - decisions, timing, coordination, problem-solving. It can easily become overwhelming.

My role is to hold that structure. To keep things moving. And to make sure clients feel supported and clear throughout the process.

Yes, I design spaces.

But just as importantly, I help create calm within what can otherwise feel like a very complex journey.

That sense of ease and confidence, that’s often what people remember most.
