When the Foundation began its work in 2007, it started with offering small research grants towards the examination of abstract ideas. Underlying this was a keen sense of investigation, and then developing manners in which to communicate and represent that information. By design, this work was ever directly linked to the work that the design studio was doing; but was just a result of wanting to examine ideas that hadn’t been examined previously, and then drawing parallels and connections with the manners in which we experience, and build the world around us. All of these publications are of course available on our website now. Amidst all the other work that the Foundation does, we felt that it was time to go back to work that has led to everything we do today.
Our work with Ms. Sneha Khulge - an architect and researcher - currently based in the UK is a step in that direction. Over the next few months, she will be documenting and examining the connection between the sea, the coast line, and the city of Mumbai. Stay tuned for more information as this work progresses.
