Clémence L. (aka Ilha Kostya) is a French filmmaker based in Geneva, focusing nowadays on writing and directing animated films. Initially trained in all aspects of film creation, she worked for more than fifteen years in the field of advertising, mainly as a film editor and later as a project manager in the luxury industry, before deciding to dedicate herself fully to independent directing. Alongside her artistic career, she studied sociology and anthropology and trained as a Gestalt therapist, which gives her work a unique depth, bridging psychological insight with cultural and poetic exploration. Her artistic practice is driven by a passion for human psychology, women’s stories, and the imaginative and symbolic dimensions of storytelling. Animation, with its ability to weave together layers of reality, memory, dreams, and myth, has become her chosen medium to explore complex subjects in a sensitive and poetic way. “As a female filmmaker, I care deeply about telling stories about women — stories that speak to women, but also resonate with men — and that make visible the complexity, strength, and contradictions of female figures around the world.”
She is currently developing several projects, including a poetic animated short film on the system of in**st, and a new biographical film inspired by the life and legacy of one of the great figures of modern Indian history. Clémence will be at Boathouse in January 2026.

Meet Nicola Bryars-Parker — an Australian multidisciplinary artist whose work traces the delicate interplay between nature, memory, and place. Raised sketching on repurposed drafting paper from her father's engineering office, Nicola’s early spark for drawing bloomed into printmaking, inspired by her passion for transforming the everyday into something profound. Influenced by Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Gathering Moss, her art nurtures a gentle reciprocity with the earth . A graduate of the University of New South Wales, she completed her final year at the University of Texas at Austin. Her collaborative roots in The Upholstery (2003–2008) gave way to a full-time solo practice, launched with the 2018 show Biophilia. Recent work includes Organic Data at Northsite Contemporary Arts and Resilience at Mulgrave Gallery in Cairns.

Nicola will be joining us in January 2026 — and we can't wait to see how her intuitive, nature-rooted creativity unfolds in new ways.
