Gala Celestia is a residential affordable housing scheme developed and built by Gala Infrastructure group based out of Ahmedabad.

The layout is planned considering maximum family units to get advantage of central common open space (COP). 3 buildings are planned around this COP; having 2 blocks in each building, making a total of 6 blocks. By placing the buildings in the East-West direction, harsh west sun was avoided. This also encouraged COP to remain in shadow all through the day till late evening. By having the COP open from the West, the advantage of South-West wind was also taken.

The cluster and the units of each block were planned with a mix of two 2BHK and two 1.5BHK on each floor with 10 floors in each block. All units have all rooms opening outwards, either facing the common plot or adjacent plots or the main road. This planning also provides a lot of clear light and ventilation throughout the day.

The amenities encourage community living, the housing offers a number of amenities on its ground floor including a multipurpose hall for common indoor functions, a gymnasium, library, indoor games for kids and an open area of about 25000 sqft. for the public to get together. For household related needs, convenience stores were also planned on the ground and first floor facing the main road. A two-level basement was designed with separate entry and exit ramps and an efficient structure system for 250 dedicated parking spaces.

Party Plot in Navsari, Gujarat

Designed as a vibrant public space, this Party Plot in Navsari caters to community gatherings, cultural events, and social celebrations. The site is divided into zones, which include an inviting entrance plaza, a lush central lawn with planters, a central stage, and a pavilion-style amenities block that houses the kitchen and utilities. The design encourages community connection by blending functionality with openness.

Linear elegance meets climate-conscious design. VRAJ — a family residence that blends form, function in facade.
The terrazzo-clad first floor features a custom bar-code groove pattern, adding texture and rhythm. Volumes adjacent to each other, along with the sleek balcony boxes break the monotony, crafting a dynamic elevation.

We introduced the sculptural staircase invites pause and interaction, and open zones on the first floor foster reading, collaboration, and play. Circular voids in the ACP wall filter light and create dynamic visual connections activating every corner with purpose and energy.

FOUND SPACES – FOND PLACES

The Padarayanapura neighbourhood in Bangalore can be considered as a sample wherein informality of a FOUND
SPACE: the trapezoidal land between the chaos of all the traffic and vending, can transform into a FOND PLACE for the people through PLACE-KEEPING for not only the residents but also the visitors to the nearby institutions, park, shops and schools.

The proposed intervention of this urban node can be considered as a TOOLKIT for transforming more urban-voids in the city into inclusive public spaces. The principles include integration of existing assets to create strong sense of place, strengthening links with existing communities, providing multiple transport choices, creating playful encounters with space and people and design intergenerational spaces for healthy interactions with the community. Depending on the amount of space and the neighbourhood to be catered, the programs can range from spaces for family recreation and child-play, vending for economic enhancement, transport hubs, performance spaces, kiosks and sports or active recreational spaces. The elements for enhancing the experience can include greenery, Selfie points, green mounds and steps, traffic calming elements, educational elements, interactive surfaces and water features.
