Proposed Mosque (Masjid-E-Aqsa) at Gandhinagar Sheopur In Madhya Pradesh, India

Mosque Design:
Our design concept reflects the key principles of Islamic art & architecture - simplicity, functionality, spirituality, light, pattern, geometry and water.
The prayer hall is designed so that no artificial lighting is needed during daylight hours.Within the prayer hall a perforated, patterned roof allows dappled natural light to enter the prayer hall providing a contemplative space for prayer. The design of the prayer hall provides a significant column-free space, which allows a range of functions for community education and is therefore adaptable.
The form and configuration of the building is based on that of traditional mosques, which have for centuries used orientation, shading, natural ventilation and water to create comfortable environments for prayer. The perfect cube building consists of white jali and arches in contemporary design, Islamic pattern encloses the entrance pavilion with green spaces and a pond giving a sense of calmness & contemplation. The patterns creating an elegant space with ample light & shade.

It's a dense locality of Aurangabad where houses are placed almost at an arm's length from one another. This created a challenge to draw sufficient natural light and ventilation inside the house. The resultant design gives the structure a distinct look from the houses in the vicinity, and enlivens the internal spaces with light and air. The volume of the open space on the facade and the balconies, creates a lasting impression in the mind of an onlooker. .
