The bridal room is an extension of the gifts given to the newly-weds by the family, a space for them to call their own.
In this project, the main challenge was to include all the client’s desired features into a 170 sqft room, without making it feel congested. We chose wall-mounted floating furniture pieces like the dressing table and side table, to minimise the floor-space utilised. The bed frame’s recessed base allows it to hover, along with the dressing and side tables.
One of the elements the client proposed is the dark teak wood paneling on the wall. We decided to blend the bathroom door within the same paneling, and also add some interest with a contrasting headboard.
The overall concept was to design a comfortable space, with a subtle type of richness. So, we chose light colours for the fabric and the wallpaper. We added gold tinted lighting fixtures, matched by the side table and handles. The accent chairs were chosen to give a pop of colour into the space.
