Midigayi (raw young mango) harvest today from our home garden
though there are hundreds of reasons for the harvest, the freshness, taste and love for mango chitranna made out of freshly harvested unripened mangoes is always on the top, first and primary reason

other reasons are

1. these are low-hanging fruits(literally), which attracts unnecessary attention from lot of people, who throw stones, use sticks and damage the trees, plant and finally our peace

2. number of fruits set in the tree is high, which creates fight for nutrition between fruits and finally lot of them grow and ripen into smaller fruits when they mature and hence thinning the young fruits, helps in rationing the nutrition and allow few good sturdy mangoes to grow into a bigger fruit when they mature and ripe

3. fruits on the line of sight of light, air and hence rain drops and those without protection from the leaves, tend to get hit by wind and rain drops and creating spots and holes for worms to enter... and also this hit/spot, spoils the entire mango, while wasting nutrients as well and hence removal/thinning
