As time passes, there are some things you let go of in life. And they sometimes come back, reminding you that they never let go of you in return.

After running 25, Mulberry, our woodworking and fine cabinetry studio in Bangalore for over a decade, it was gut wrenching to close down our operations about 5 years ago and walk away after handing over the keys to a new custodian.

We moved to a different geography and slowly rebuilt our lives as farmers, a life that we'd not give up for anything today.

And we've made a small start again in the warmth of wood and working with it at the farm - we will soon set up a tiny studio that's more about keeping in touch with the craft and less about volume production of kitchens and wardrobes and bespoke furniture.

Yes, this is also about sharing the space with DIY enthusiasts. So if you are interested, get in touch - you could book yourself a vacation at our farmstay and get busy with your hands!

Our first bunch of bench tools are in and we are assembling these now (in one of our bedrooms 😁)

We are so excited as there's more to come and we will keep you updated as the story unfolds. Watch this space.

The Lazy Grasshopper Farm

To all our Asmara / 25, Mulberry friends, it’s been a while and we hope you are well! And while we have not restarted Asmara or 25, Mulberry, we have started our new venture, The Lazy Grasshopper Farm, located between Chennai & Pondicherry. We stay on the farm – Param looks after the farming side of things as well as our farm stay, and I run The Lazy Grasshopper Farm Pantry, our production centre, where we work on value adding to farm produce. We make home-made pickles and jams the old-fashioned way, in small batches with no chemical preservatives or added colour. We’ve just passed a major milestone - our e-commerce site is now live! Bangalore, it is time to say goodbye to you. After crafting furniture and building fine cabinetry in close to a decade, for you, our wonderful customers and friends in this city, we are now officially closed for business here.
