Esthétique Architects is pleased to announce the commencement of the restoration of the Heritage (HVN) Bungalow. This has been preceded by a year and a half of research, interviews with the descendants of H V Nanjundaiah, detailed documentation, and condition assessment including substructure analysis.
The Bhumi pooja was conducted early in the morning on 12th November, 2020. We are grateful to the Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, Dr. Ashwath Narayan for taking few minutes out of his busy schedule to grace this auspicious beginning. He has been keen to get this building in his constituency restored to former glory. Addressing the small group gathered today, he said that he wished that the proposed future usage showcasing the historicity of the area would help in building the character and instilling the right principles in the future generation. It is indeed wonderful to see an elected representative root for the cause of tangible heritage.
We express our deepest gratitude to the all at BBMP, Malleshwaram, particularly Mr. Papa Reddy, EE, for the support and encouragement extended to us.
Thanks also to Mr. V N Ramaswamy, grandson of HVN, for being a fabulous resource of information.
Note: The building was originally the residence of Rajamantra Praveena Sri H. V. Nanjundaiah, and was constructed in 1915 CE. HVN gifted away the building and premises to the Government in order to run a Girls High School as education of girls was a dear cause to him.
A team of workers skilled in conservation work supervised by Architects, Civil and Structural consultants with expertise and experience in the field of conservation are executing the restoration work.
