Durbargarh of Sathamba
Vijay Bhuvan, was initially built as the State Guest House of Sathamba Princely State in the core of Sathamba village of Aravali district during British Raj.
Post independence, this property was then used as personal residence of the Royal Family of Sathamba, and thus was renamed as Durbargarh of Sathamba.
This building was nearly 100+ years old and was built with, then vernacular architecture of mud walls, lime plaster and wooden elements. It required heavy restoration on initial inspection. The client, decided to demolish and reconstruct the structure.
Keeping the existing footprint and plinth profile of the structure, spatial arrangement was reorganized and newer requirements were inculcated. The essence of built form was kept intact within the spatial nuances, traditional elements and new stone elements.
