T R U S S

In architecture and engineering, a supporting structure or framework composed of beams, girders, or rods commonly of steel or wood lying in a single plane.

A truss usually takes the form of a triangle or combination of triangles, since this design ensures the greatest rigidity.

Trusses are used for large spans and heavy loads, especially in bridges and roofs. Their open construction is lighter than, yet just as strong as, a beam with a solid web between upper and lower lines.

The members are known as tie-beams, posts, rafters, and struts; the distance over which the truss extends is called the span. The upper and lower lines or beams are connected by web members.

S P R I N G

We all are well versed with this term SPRING (Vasant-ritu) as it is near so thought of illustrating it in my way.

Spring refers to the season where the daytime increases in length and there are shorter nights.

Also, it is the season of refreshing new ideas, rebirth, and regrowth which you can tell by seeing a nearby tree where the leaves falls and new leaves are grown.

Architect : .archis

Muqarnas, an ornamented vaulting used in Islamic architecture. These are also called as 'honeycomb vaulting' or 'stalactite vaulting'. It is also called as "Ahoopāy" in Iranian architecture and "Mocárabe" in Iberian architecture.

The purpose of muqarnas is to create a smooth, decorative zone of transition in an otherwise bare, structural space. This structure gives the ability to distinguish between the main parts of a building, and serve as a transition from the walls of a room into a domed ceiling.

- Between architecture and landscape

Project: Superkilen Park
Architect: Bjarke Ingles

This illustration is very close to my heart. As when the first time I started designing in academics, I got introduced to flux lines which is very prominent in this illustration.

The nexus between architecture and landscape is the interstitial space, giving a designer to design a fascinating place with loads of opportunities.

These places fall in the category of ‘in-between’.
These spaces often shapes the human experience by a variety of details such a places to sit, canopied structures or reusing the programs. The intention is to weave public spaces which are designed with human behavioural pattern.
